Alaska is a legacy carrier and formed before Deregulation Act of 1978. Southwest and the ones who followed were established as low-cost carriers.

Reading the wiki, got their start flying liquor out to villages. Classic!

One of our ANC FOs is checked out in this! Not flying this year, unfortunately, due to cost of insurance.

What safety data are you talking about? Your not referencing the RNP approaches that they researched, surveyed and engineered are you?

So they did that without FAA/government and taxpayer help?

I really don't mind it anyway. DL will do it on their own, this is merely a speed bump. No biggie, it was just a little insecure of them, but whatevs.

We already have. It's being test flown in the sims. Just because Delta created an RNAV(RNP) approach to Roberts and then turned it over to the Govt of Liberia so all operators could use it, doesn't mean that other carriers have to be as gracious.

An impressive and generous gift to the world of aviation...please extend my gratitude to those unheralded members involved in putting GLRB approaches to public use for the world to enjoy.

I suppose there was no JDP category for sharing of proprietary information with competitors or Alaska would've certainly been in jeopardy winning year after year

FYI Alaska has spent and donated literally millions of dollars over the years on airport facilities and even navaids they donated to communities in the state of Alaska.

Its a good thing for Alaska and Delta, as it gives us something to strive for. And its working. We're narrowing the gap considerably and quickly. That makes us all better and our industry stronger.

Alaska (barely) beat DL this year, and they 100% deserve the award. It was hard earned.

Uhh, actually, that post was the first time you said congrats, but thanks anyway .... But then you quickly followed it up with a several back-handed compliments (great innovation but shame on you for not sharing, you won but barely,etc.).

Yes, I have enthusiasm but it is appropriately bridled. BUT, IF I ever cheered for the ME3 (and to make it clear, I have not), how is that any different than your unbridled enthusiasm for taking over another company's customers and routes, or demanding they hand over their "proprietary" information?

As long as you buy ... And I think we would both enjoy the vigorous debate.

Uhh, that is why it is called "proprietary" (I don't think that word means what you think it means) ... Can you give us your new routes, fleet and basing plans? Can we use your motto, too? If not, who is insecure?
