It would really come down to basing options for me. Can you be home based at either?

I don't think there is any reason for anyone to go to Southwes vs the majors anymore.

How about not wanting to commute?

I think the only SW crew base that doesn't have a Big 3 crew base is MCO.

You're right. I forgot to add LAS. Say it and forgot to include it.

But if you live in LAS or MCO, and don't want to commute, SW is your Big 4 airline of choice.

BUT, after your toast you go to bed at 10am EST. wake up 10pm EST to fly a 10 hour flight back to the states. Then you burn a day being groggy only to come out of you fog to show for your next Rome turn. I will gladly overnight in JAN so when I am home there is no fog. Absolutely Colgan.... the International flying is horrid, just absolute misery..... in fact, think of all the extra seniority you'll enjoy staying on JAN layovers vice FCO!

Colganguy

Where did you get those numbers? A toast at sunset in Rome is about 4pm this time year, and whose schedule has a 5am Rome tome bus? Arrive at 3am-ish EDT, get 3 hours of good sleep, then tour the town.

I just got back from a week trip in Europe and, while a little foggy in the morning, mowed the lawn, loaded shells for skeet today and feel fine. JAN ain't no Rome, or Lyon for that matter.

Sure, but that's only half the picture. Depends on the domiciles. My two bros at the squadron got HOU/DAL within 1 and 2 months respectively. I know folks in UA still waiting for IAH with over a year on property. That's not inconsequential to some of us, especially if we're already compromised by having to commute to the reserve unit.

So I'm with FLY on this one. Merely sharing domiciles does not make the "not wanting to commute" argument a wash.
