My one 5.5% profit sharing check plus the occasional $75/mo shared rewards doesn't quite make up for all that. The $124/hr I made in 1999 as a 727 FO sure went a lot further than what I'm making now. I think that is the only profit sharing check I've ever received, but I could be wrong. I did get one from AA Eagle once for $30 and Crandall mailed everyone a $100 bill once.

The reason we are all working for these wages and benifits is because the majority are willing to do so. "In these times" bla bla bla. The downhill slide all started at AA when the pilots caved when management threatened bankruptcy; all the time APA was yelling for us to hold firm.
Absolutely correct sir! A lot of folks (especially AA pilots) forget that post 9/11, it was American that caved first and caved BIG!!

I think I get a bit misunderstood here regarding what is realistic for our working agreement. I'm not saying "pay me $400/hr to fly the 747-400." What I am saying is that pilots industry wide need to be a little less trigger happy about accepting these contracts for 3 years plus.

We need a national union with the leaders of OPEC running it.

Maybe try reading before insulting. It is the duration of this agreement that is my major personal sticking point. Everything you stated above is true which should help our pricing power in the future. Who knows what oils going to do, but probably go up. Remember management saying that the business traveler was gone forever?

It sucks that airline managers have to force themselves to make a basic supply and demand model set the price of a ticket rather than just up the fares industry wide. Kinda what we are doing as pilot groups by continuing to work for lower wages for the foreseeable future.

I'm asking for LESS; less years of this agreement. It seems that most people here have given in to the BOHICA pattern bargaining profile.

STUPIDITY = A YES VOTE for a 4 year contract under the current terms

Furlough protection is a farce. The language isn't worth the paper it is written on.

As posted above, your only security is a strong, profitable company.
