bingo.

I simply cannot imagine anyone wasting stress or time over what color/words are on his/her aircraft.

Are you aggrieved folks going to shred your paychecks because they now say "Delta?" No? I didn't think so.

Seriously...get a life.

No, it's the 767s and 330s that aren't fenced, but I think you already know that. It explains your crabbiness since the list came out.

Landed behind one of the 747 on Saturday night in DTW. We were laughing cause with all the white, we still could not find it in the night.

OK... so lemme get this straight. IF Mama Delta decides to replace the 787s with 777s... they aren't fenced, is that what you are saying? DAL guys can bid 'em? Just tryin' to be sure about this...

Nobody is sure, because the arbitrators haven't handed down "Supplemental Award #1" yet. You can bet the NWA guys will say that 777s delivered due to exchanging 787 slots are "replacement airplanes".

If the past is any indication, the arbitrators will be very generous in what they consider "replacements".

I hope no one has spent their merger asessment money yet.

My interpretation of this little conflict is that anything that clearly and unambiguously replaces the 744 (not the 742) in the next 5 years will be fenced off to NW. (and also anything that likewise replaces the 787) But the likely replacement for either aircraft seems to be the 777, and with premerger DL having orders/options/rolling options for 45 or so aircraft, the question of what would be a clear replacement and what would clearly be an original DL order (that a stand alone DL would have taken delivery on) would become very controversial. (this assumes any claimed "replacements" come from the original DL 45 orders/options) NW would claim replacement, DL would claim original order/option. I would predict the court of the "three wise men" would compromise by awarding positions via a ratio of say, 1.9DL/1.1NW (original WB ratio in the ISL), or 7 to 5, or 1 to 1......NW doesn't get full credit for a replacement, DL doesn't get full credit for an original 777 order.

Would they have been so generous had somehow pre-merger Republic been flying any international widebody aircraft? I would imagine arbitrators would be as generous in considering aircraft-specific, pre-merger orders/options as belonging to the group that ordered them and currently flys them as they would be in considering them as replacements for a group whose pre-merger orders/options does not include that specific aircraft and that does not currently fly that aircraft......clear as mud, right?
