Both, but assume you're always going to be last on the list with AA. United priority is just okay.

This is all in addition to our lackluster work rules and low pay.

I would very seriously look at Compass or SkyWest.
Before he seriously considers SkyWest, he needs to ask them how long before he can hold it as a FO, then how long he would be on reserve in PHX as an FO, then how long before he upgrades there.

I think it is about a year to get PHX as an FO, a year on reserve once an FO is there, and forever to upgrade.

He will also start out commuting to DTW or ATL at SkyWest. Neither are that great from PHX.

Also, the pay at SkyWest is the same as Mesa and the reserve rules are much worse. They have a combo long call-2 your call out combo. Everyone on 2 hour call out (call out starts at Noon) must check in by 6 pm the night before. SkyWest can then put you on a flight the very next morning. This makes commuting on reserve at SkyWest impossible. I can’t believe it but Mesa’s work rules are better than SkyWest’s.

I believe Compass would be a better option for him given what you are saying about the commute.

Yeah I have zero interest in Skywest, so they are not even on my radar. As for IAD, again, I am OK with sitting longer or possibly even upgrading in DFW or something if need be until PHX is an option. Thank you very much for all the good advice and I did put an app in at Compass as well, just to see what they have to say.

I like that Mesa is fast paced in terms of flying and rewards you well for picking up trips. As for any rumors of Mesa being bad in terms of management/contract, ha, Envoy is no cake walk let me tell you.

Based in IAD, you will get American and United flight benefits. Only IAH is limited to United only.

As far as commuting, there is only one nonstop flight on United, however, AA does fly 3 times into DCA.

As of now, that's about a 1 hour Metro/Bus commute on its own. However, the direct "Metro only" construction should be finished by 2019. I think it's about 10 bucks each way.

Plus there is always Uber.

Anyone have any idea on how long the response time is from recruiting? I have sent in the app, emailed and phoned in with no returns of any sort.

Thanks

Anyone aware of a recruiting backlog? Sent in an app, called and sent an email and haven't heard anything back yet. Just want to know how long I should wait to try giving them a call again.

Thanks

I'm just the new guy so I know nothing really...but the recruitment brochure says the code share with AA is good till 2025 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...and that same Recruiting Brochure says it's 8-10 weeks from showing up in Phoenix for training until IOE...

...tell that to the November, December, January and February classes and see the reaction.

Mesa should move their HQ to Fantasyland.

The brochure says our training will take a maximum of 14 weeks from day one till IOE. That tells me that the January class should be on the line. Is that the case for the CRJ and the Ejet?

How many Ejet pilots were trained in Helsinki or Paris?

Rumor is the new hire bonuses are going away.

Had a friend hired in February. She was released from IOE yesterday. So yes those in January are on the line or at least had the opportunity to on the CRJ.
