Welcome to the Mesa mentality.....there are some really good guys there but from my short stint I was SHOCKED at how bad the Stockholm syndrome is. Many of these guys have never been anywhere else or failed out of training somewhere else so they don’t know how bad they have it and would gladly screw over everyone in the industry to fly a “mainline” plane for CRJ or EJET rates. They always come back with the same sh*t which is laughable at best ....”oh 300%, oh quick upgrade”.....you guys are so Blind.....these things are not guaranteed in your WEAK contract.
This is an issue for us all because if Mesa guys accept their POS 73s for substandard rates and QOL they once again undermine everyone else and give ammunition to our companies that a group of F*cktard pilots will accept less than what they deserve if you dangle a rotten carrot in front of them.

As long as the pay isn't cutting below other carriers and trying to entice fresh guy 1500 hour guys like CFI's who see a big shiny jet and don't care about the pay or base then it's not so bad. But, knowing this companies history.. If they come up to me and said hey we have these 73's we need staffed. We will pay for your type rating but you'll get crap pay with crap hours, long nights, and the only benefit is you're flying a 73! Yeah, I'll pass on that one.

Lol so angry you think we at mesa want to get paid practically industry low for our time? Especially for hauling freight in 73's? You think ANYONE in this industry likes working at regional pay? Because if you do you're an idiot. No one here wants low pay obviously we would like southern air or better pay on the 73's. So complaining to us like you know something that everyone else doesn't adds nothing to the conversation.

Ok, I appreciate you and the others that have answered what they hope for us. I’m not expecting legacy rates, but something comparable in the cargo world of 737 flying. I’m hoping/expecting rates for that aircraft along the lines of Spirit/Frontier/JetBlue and not just Southern’s old rates, but that will be up to the negotiationing committee and the MEC.

I don't think he'll offer anything. Theyll goto arbitration. The mesa people will make some case for higher wages, the company will say,"we're the lowest paying consistently, weve got a workforce that knew that and stayed here for whatever reason, they'll make sub standard wages and they'll like it just like they have for decades."
All of us will shrug and say, "makes sense". Mesa pilots will pretend victory is theirs. And they'll be in the guppy cargo circus as a background player never making it big.
