Probably worth it. I wouldn’t commute to this company and IAD is super senior on the CA side. If IAH also consider SKW. Also depends on how long you plan on staying. This company doesn’t have many years left. So as long as you plan to be out in a few years that won’t be a factor. But if you are expecting a longer stay I would run away from this powder keg. We are becoming a senior pilot group. And when a regional becomes too heavy with top of the pay scale earners it gets undercut (just look at what happened to XJT) the same thing will happen here. The lifers of Mesa will bring about its downfall.
There is a big difference between top CA pay at Mesa vs. ExpressJet. I’m too lazy to look it up but it’s around $50 per hour difference. Not to mention probably 80% of the captains at XJT were maxed out. This argument is apples and oranges.
To answer the question - there are better regionals for sure than Mesa, but if you goal is to get to upgrade ASAP and fly as much as possible so you can get to a real airline job then it’s still not a bad option. There are training issues everywhere. Mesa will get it figured out soon.

First time posting here, so I’m sorry if this is the wrong place but this seems to be the most active thread.
I was called for an interview, and it’s scheduled in the next couple days. I’m interviewing for the ERJ, which I have not seen as many complaints about in this thread. I have pending interviews with a couple of other regionals too but from the way I see it Mesa is offering a much larger initial bonus (I understand hourly pay is trash), shorter upgrade time (according to the interviewer, so correct me if I have bad info), and a base with lower cost of living than any other regional is going to want to stick me (I’m not trying to commute).
All that being said, I see a lot of posts on here basically saying buyer beware. I have read most of this thread and I think I have an idea of what everyone’s mad about. So, my question to anyone reading this is: Is the QOL alone bad enough to turn down a CJO here? Or is it an ok place for someone who can make it work for them?
Any insight is appreciated

No one being hired today should care what current upgrade times are. Only what they will be when you get your hours (1 year from now). Due to massive attrition there is a 99.9% chance you will upgrade as soon as you have 1000 hrs.

Couldn’t disagree more
With FOs leaving at the cyclic now are upgrades are getting further away not closer.

You will have to explain to me like I am 5 how this is possible. Every person that leaves who is above you on the seniority list moves you closer to captain. Doesn’t matter if they are CA or FO. What am I missing?

The CRJ side is heavy on captains. The FOs are leaving at a much higher rate than the captains. The company can’t manage to train FOs at a replacement rate for the ones that are leaving. This puts them in a position where they can’t upgrade that many FOs.

When you have 2 years worth of FOs waiting to upgrade still, chances are right now it’s gonna be about that long, and might be longer if we continue to see decreases in AA flying.

Clearly there's problems on the AA side, I'm interviewing for the United 175. That's what i'm trying to get the details on. Training backlog, upgrade, attrition, seniority in IAH. Any info on this front?

Why is that? Are a large portion of the CA on the CRJ lifers, or what?

Biggest issue is we’re still not really upgrading on the CRJ side. There’s a few here and there, which to me is crazy because we’re definitely short staffed everywhere. So the ERJ is currently being filled with both ERJ and CRJ upgrades, and even a couple CA to CA transfers each month. The good thing is that there’s tons of movement on the United side, it’s just a big bottleneck.
