Damn, troll central last two days. I find it weird defending Mesa but hate other pilots that troll on other airlines threads even more.

What X military, corporate folks. I guess with no one hiring for the last 5 years you get folks that want to just get back into an airplane.

Anyone have a contact for whoever schedules the new hire classes? I got hired back in December, spoke to the recruiters and was told that I'd hear in January about a class date. I've sent a couple of emails to the recruiter I was speaking to, but I've heard nothing back.

Yes. And the majors just aren't calling. Lots of pilots with thousands of jet, Part 121 hours as well as corporate/135 jet guys. A few former captains. Friends who were hired recently at Trans and XJT had similar class profiles. If this is who shows up for "hard to fill" classes, I don't think any of the regionals are going to be too worried.

It seems like all of the "good luck finding pilots" talk on these boards is a little overblown at the moment. Things could change, but HR departments probably aren't on high alert just yet.

These Skywest guys are talking about well yeah at Skywest we are getting 200 EJETS. But how many 50 seaters are y'all going to be losing? At the very least it will be a wash.

Year and a half upgrades (or less) according to Mesa's own sensitive nip, roid pumping, newhire recruiter:

"I am a Mesa recruiter, it's about a year and a half or less captain upgrade right now.. We have 750 pilots and we are hiring 800 in the next year and a half and that's not accounting for attrition.. Our most jr CA hasn't been hired yet"
