Thanks for the rundown.

A slam clicker is someone who doesn't do anything with the crew on overnights. They close their door (slam) and lock it. (Click)

Honestly, here I'm a slam clicker, I don't like to waste my money on beers with people I have already spent the entire day with.
I moved out of my old place because all my roommate wanted to do was party. It got old real fast, especially when you had to be at the airport 6 a.m. the next morning. But because I didn't drink all the time with him or enjoy loud bass at 2 a.m., I was quickly dubbed "anti-social."

Sort of get the feeling airlines are the same way. You're almost expected to go out with people when sometimes all you want to do is go to your room and hit the pillow or call the wife. Does slam-clicker have a negative connotation and cut you off from the collective? Or is it no big deal?

It's no big deal. I believe the majority of crews do this now. But back in the day, when my father was flying for Braniff. It had a negative connotation. I truthfully don't really trust anybody anymore. Your not breaking any rules, your not drunk and acting un-responsible. But if anything goes wrong the next day, there are some FA's that will call you out. "I saw him drinking last-night". Just the nature of the biz now I guess.

Yeah, when I have to wake at 4:00am for an early morning show. I'm not to be ****ed with.

Definitely not. Just telling the latest rumors and why they sound believable, even if they are or aren't. Please don't read anymore into it than that.

What is the likelyhood of dropping FO trips in the 175? Too early? Not enough reserve crews?

I will jump in on this since I started it. I was told by a very senior captain that is friends with way upper management that Mesa is in negotations for 20 E-Jets out of DFW for AA. Knowing that I might bid back to the CRJ for the DFW base he told me to hold tight. I was also told to keep it zipped but **** the bed.

Makes sense. Since Mesa is will now be in DFW, and has a EJet program in place.

Any rumors if they're still trying to get more CRJs?

None, upper management wants to go after the E-Jet contracts. Even if we have to lease/sale some of our CRJ/9's to another company. Yeah I said it.
