Wow...you guys think IAD blows now??? I remember the A gates, the dungeon. The "old" crew room by the corner Ethiopia and Pakistan. They were still constructing the B concourse. People movers everywhere, no train. Air Wisconsin ground ground handling with a ground handler nearly walking into a colgan prop every day. I remember when the Trans States pilot and the mechanic got in a fist fight at the A gates.
Actually even before that, during the ACA/Independence Air stuff when we had I think the remote "F" gates. Now THAT SUCKED!!!! Those remote gates were like a greyhound bus station in North Central Philly. Oh and back then, no KCM either so you if you timed it just right you'd be able to get behind the 19 person Saudia Crew going through the only employee lane.
Dulles isn't even that expensive, unless you're living as if you are on "single airline captain" wages and staying at hotels while on reserve. Dulles crew rates are high, ground transportation is a nightmare with the Flyer. But overall it is doable and guys b*tchin have no idea what Dulles was. Besides dulles lately has to be extremely temporary for most. Suck it up and bid out.

So did the company really plan for a Boston market catered thanksgiving dinner for those in IAH, and when everyone showed up the Company CC was declined?

Not to flame bait but ihateIAD's been calling a duck a duck and appears to have done his homework. Maybe he hasn't paid his dues, but he claims to have... and ill buy that. Undoubtedly at YV he will continue to do so? Show up, doing your job, and cut out. If whoever sees it differently and want to make this place a career then so be it, that's cool too I won't fault you.
IAD isn't fun and working for any company can be frustrating… and they definitely were a good bit worse. 8 hours of "rest" gate to gate, +2 months straight of BAD CDO's, rampant JRAs, etc. Complaining to fellow employees is pretty standard… just gauge who you're complaining to and where. No, there weren't always 1 year upgrades and legacies hiring +100 a month. Some of the employees have been shot or shot at (I'm referring to military not STL turns), furloughed, downgraded, or otw kicked in the groin... and this is cake compared to their past. We've all heard it before use your best judgement and be cool, keep it professional, do your job, and enjoy your days at home.
I also can't stand IAD(the base)

I don't mind IAD.
Then again I was based at LGA and CMH before coming here and those REALLY DID suck. D

I like how you go on about how you're a "realist" and other people are "kids". Judging by your attitude and choice of words, you're more of a spoiled kid than anyone in here.

IAD is fine. The chick on Ground is annoying and ramp can turn into a cluster but I just hold my push and chill.

Wow, I hope none of you Mesa cheerleaders ever get into the Negotiation Committee, because J.O will have a field day with you all. Heck, all he needs to say is E-Jets and quick upgrade for you cheerleaders to bend over and spread wide. You all are working for a man that would rather put a monkey in the F.O seat, and a man that despises his senior cadreship. Those crew members that built an airline from a bunch of 1900s and 1300s to an all jet fleet. Be ready to be called a bottom feeder for very long time, since J.O has "stack of applications 10 feet high" to fly his barely shiny jets for peanuts. Until that pipeline drys out, there will be no contract gains. Before all you 172 flight instructors bash me with your propaganda, I was at Mesa during the bankruptcy, and I exactly know how bad this leech of a company can become.

Newsflash: all the regionals suck, JO isn't the only CEO who wishes he could replace FOs with monkeys.
We are contract employees to the majors and the cheapest bidder gets the flying. Hmm I bet a monkey would be cheaper than me. I think YOU and a lot of people forget that.
Look what happened to Comair, look what's happening to Eagle. I commend them for standing up for the industry but we aren't mainline pilots and we don't have the leverage (mainline) pilots have. If we get too expensive we're gone. Period.
Heck I wish we could put vending machines in the back and that FA pay could be tacked onto my pay. Just sayin'
Enjoy your failing 125 operation.

Its funny that headchief would say that but he'd surely give his balls for a job at Fedex. Wasnt it Fred Smith of our beloved FedEx that once seemed to pioneer the advent of single pilot cockpits? He thinks there is no use for a first officer at all....but hey only the regionals and there monkeys huh?
Where would headchief be starting at fedex.....?? Right seat and flinging gear at one of the most coveted jobs in the industry. Yet he'd surely be b*tchin about something.
