Apparently you don't give a rats a** about what your 3rd grade teacher says. You volunteered to work for mesa?!

You sound like one of those trust fund babies who has never held a real job outside of aviation. Congrats though, I'm sure everyone in this thread who works for Mesa is second guessing their career choice solely because you chose to grace us with your presence in here.

Well done sir, anything else we can do for you today?

This crap cracks me up! Can you seriously point me towards the "chosen regional"? Sure Mesa is on the bottom of the contract scale but that is because they just went through CH11 bankruptcy. Looking at all the regional contracts they all seem to suck equally in one way or another. Unless you are looking at staying at a regional for your career, they are simply all the same. Crap pay, crap reserve rules (if any), and so on. Find a regional that has a base near you, get your time, and get out.

Not following you… the bankruptcy hadn't anything to do with the vote. NOT flame: the contract reads today because Mesa pilots have never had enough leverage to force management to negotiate improvements… along with the obvious management's "inability" (i.e. unwillingness) to offer anything with substance.

Even if they own the planes, even if they pay for the fuel, even if they sign whatever you want them to sign...believe me, Delta will find a way to screw over whichever regional is dumb enough to take this flying.

Believe me--it's best for all of our careers if we don't do business with them, even when factoring in the short-term boost of a few extra CRJ Captain slots.
Delta, we'll Comair you whenever we can!!! Signed Richard "Dick Analson" Anderson.

Flaps, your words are so true.

Then they said they couldn't use that person since they require a 90 minute callout and weren't working until that day (the showtime is almost immediately after the start of the shift), so they couldn't notify the person in time. I mentioned our contract says pilots are responsible for checking 2-24 hours in advance what their schedule is. A supervisor replied to that one and essentially said "We're aware of what the contract says, thank you."

Funny enough, they just called me even though I don't start reserve for 45 minutes, so I guess it's okay to call some people before their shift starts but not others.
Deltajuliet- The mandatory check-in 24 to 2 hours prior is null and void under 117 rest rules. If the company makes you perform even one tiny action prior to your duty on time then you did not receive 10 hours rest. Besides you don't want someone forcing you to show up right at noon or whatever on your first day of reserve when you get an hour & half call out. Keep that in mind when checking Flica. If you're sitting second out but are notifiable and the other guy ain't - you're going. You guys actually have a pretty decent reserve system minus the Ready Rsv. At Frontier they call first according to the guy who flew longest ago, and always match days of availability to trip length if possible. Also at Mesa the CDO rsv shift used up whatever calender day it touches, giving you more effective days off. At F9 you only get 8 days off if you bid the CDO shift, and 12 days off for the day/noon shifts BTW, are they still putting you guys back on RSV after a pairing, or do they automatically release you if no further flying was added before you land? Sorry for the comparisons, but just wanted to point out RSV at Mesa can be pretty good with a bit of seniority.
