Look at quality of life, pay and what the bases are. Skywest is great and while fuel prices are down their 50 seat risk isn't crazy but it the near term it will be a problem. Pick your poison at a regional thou... Mesa offers good movement now and pretty good upgrade times, but for less pay and benefits. I live in IAH and I don't want a 7-8 year upgrade so Mesa was my #1.

It's not all sunshine and butterflies here but it's not nearly as bad as APC wants you to believe. Mesa is poised for growth and the current movement here is unreal. I was hired last spring and am halfway up the FO list at our most senior CRJ base (PHX). Remember, the latest batch of 7 new CRJs announced had options for an additional undisclosed amount. If you get in now you won't be a regional FO for the better part of the decade, which is nice considering FO pay here sucks balls.
The guys and gals I know at SKW love it there, but they will most likely be there for awhile. They seem to be content and have a good bit of loyalty towards their company, and from what I understand there are a ton of mid seniority lifers around. You won't find that here at Mesa. I'd say most of us hired in the last two years won't be around for a day longer than we have to be. Anyway, you have to do what's best for you and your family.

I think that the music in the recruitment vids ought to be blasted through the cabin on every take off roll!

The time to sell your soul and work for bottom feeder Mesa in the name of a quick upgrade has disappeared...
Is CPZ still a quick upgrade? If go there all day long before I even thought of Mesa.
For every quick upgrade there's going to be an FO sitting next to him who bought the kool aid and now hates life...that would be anyone crazy enough to sign up now.

Like I said, I wouldn't commute to Mesa if I were tied down and living in a SKW base. But if you're concerned future contacts and growth then I would take a closer look at Mesa and consider a possible move.

Also, don't see the 50seat being a problem in the near term, especially with current oil prices.
FYI, fast upgrade times need FOs to take your place... Don't get stuck somewhere you hate when the music stops 😞🔫

Skywest = 3000+ pilots = FO hired now needs 1400 hired below to upgrade.
Mesa = 900 pilots = FO hired now needs 450 hired below
Compass = 600 pilots = 300 hired below...
Argument invalidated.

How dare you! Logic and factual data have no place in an Internet forum.
