Ok so we just had this discussion in phx the other day withan executive management member of the company. United has been very happy with the performance of Mesa. We most likely will get more of the 175. 24-30 more. Most likely (83% likely) ord or another Chicago base. Denver is most likely not going to happen, and lax is a hell no. Company has been offered 200 flying and JO turned it down. They have no reason, need, or want to take on more 200's. Why take a old outdated inefficient aircraft when we could have new aircraft with long term contracts. Future is with the +50 seaters. If Mesa agrees to more e jets they will have to fly them for the price that they quoted United 2 years ago. That is just what we were told at least

I'm trying to catch a flight from one UA hub to another to make a late afternoon connection. There are two flights I'm going to try, but are overbooked by -6 and have 10 people on the standby list.
Is it pretty common to have a UA mainline jumpseater going from one major hub to the other?
I was trying to JS a few weeks back and the gate agent said there was another UA mainline pilot in the JS...but it was a a320 with two jumpseats...she refused to believe there were two jumpseats and wouldn't help me. How can I avoid this tomorrow?

Should this happen again.....please ask to speak with the Captain. If that doesn't work, try to seek out the other JS'er to enlist their help.

I'm still debating. I got a class date today. I'm in Houston so Iah would be a must. I've got multiple offers and am seeing which would be the best option.

I was given the 175 in IAH. Can a current Mesa guy please PM? I just want to get the low down on the company and current state of things without having to read 800 pages of drama. Thanks!!!!

I pray to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that we don't ever see another 200 that does more than keep our pay rates down. Worst thing ever. The only upside is that maybe some of the CA in IAD who came from ORD would go there if they had an MSP base.
We don't need more 200 flying. What we need is more CRJ flying for UA, if GoJet can get some, we should be able to also...the EJet is nice, but those of us who are die hard CRJ drivers need more too...
