Pilot A and pilot B have 5000hrs and a bachelor's. Pilot A has 1000TPIC. Which pilot does Legacy A hire first?

Its simply about having a better resume in the next few years. It's great hearing about FOs getting hired but we sit next to people that get hired everyday. Guys just want to increase their odds.

By large I mean more than ones and twos. There are senior FOs leaving for much better pastures.

Yes. They are. United took more Acey FOs last year than pilots from all other regional airlines combined. They are on track to beat that from last year.

What percentage of Acey FOs have EEO status compared to other regionals? What percentage are guard/reserve pilots compared to other regionals? What percentage have college degrees compared to other regionals?

We can throw around made-up stats all we want--hiring is a complicated selection process that has nothing to do with the name of your crappy regional. There is not a filter option at United HR that says "search for all the Acey FOs, filter out Mesa pilots."

So if your FOs are leaving for much better pastures, how can you say it's a good idea for some new guy to come to your stagnant operation instead of one like Mesa that's getting new airplanes and upgrading like crazy? Why are your FOs leaving? Because they have no hope of becoming Captains anytime soon, maybe?

If I had stayed at 9e the last 7 years, I would be a JFK FO on a 4-year bankruptcy-capped payscale. Let me restate that for you, since you seem to be all hysterical/confused about my career choices: I would be a 7-year FO...in JFK...stuck on 4th year FO pay.

Instead, I came to Mesa, spent 2 months on reserve, flew cushy, commutable 15-17 day off lines for a year or so, and upgraded with 1.5 years on property. Now I'm racking up TPIC.

So I'm a clown for making that lateral career move? Really? Because from this left seat I'm sitting in--even on reserve, at Mesa--my lateral move feels like the best decision I've made in my life.

Because Mesa is literally everything that's wrong with this industry. You could do everyone a favor and get any kind of improvements on your contract because you are dragging the rest of us down.
