Any chance multiple people can pitch in on a EE parking pass at DFW/ PHX/ iAd. Do they keep track of which pass/car is in lot? at specific bases? Thanks for any and all input.

Corpus is far from a top tier city but there's plenty to do. If you're at a hotel on the marina and have a long overnight, go see USS Lexington. Just want to have a decent meal? Harrison's Landing on the water or Water St Oyster Bar on Water St. Or just hit up tripadvisor or Yelp... Not a tier 1 city but not bad either.

People are bragging or arguing about our quick upgrade at Mesa. What the prospective candidates need to be aware of is the lack of hiring prospects from the legacies once they pin on those Mesa wings. A VERY SMALL (around a dozen that I know of) and 'select' few have been picked up by the majors in the last six months. Ask someone at express jet/Skywest/republic etc. how many hundred pilots they've lost in the last six months in comparison. It makes perfect sense for United and American not to hire one of their cheapest contractors that happen to perform at the top. I can only imagine the closed door agreements management has made to get new flying. So if you really want that quick upgrade into below industry par Captain pay, come on board for life; because as of now, it's not too rosy for Mesa pilots moving up to a legacy. Go to one of the other regionals and get hired as an FO into a legacy. Mesa isn't a horrible company, but people need to know that their hope to get some PIC and move on is a falacy at this point. (And I'm usually the optimistic one)
That's weird. I'm not a lifer. And neither are many of my colleagues (college educated as well to placate the other poster that resorts to name calling.) But if you have a better idea to explain the disparity in hiring, please enlighten me instead of name calling.
Do you think United will award a new long term contract to a regional it thinks is unable to staff the flying? It's not complicated. Wait for some new great news for Mesa.
Please try to respond logically this time instead of emotionally. I understand it's not fun to hear you probably chose the wrong regional. I know this because I'm at the same one. Also, if he is truly your friend in HR, what are you still doing at Mesa?

24/48, just curious why Skywest pilots have the worst rep as new hires at United?

Agreed. Qualifications are qualifications. Sustained superior performance wins the day as told to me in so many different ways by every recruiter from every major I've ever spoken to. They publish their formulas and hiring criteria for reason and from what I can tell, hold true to that.

There's some mighty sensitive people on here. I didn't mean to stir up such emotions with my opinion. And yes, it is my speculative opinion as I have no proof. All I know is we have only had less than a dozen move on to bigger and better legacy in the last six months whereas other regionals are losing that amount monthly (including FO's). I could be completely wrong with my speculative reasoning but potential new hires need to be aware that the majors are not hiring our guys at the same rate as other regionals. That is not a rumor or speculation, that is fact. So just think hard before you jump ship at another regional to chase our quick upgrade time. Either way, that's just my 2cents and you won't hear another word from me on the subject, as winning over opinion on an anonymous internet board is like trying to herd cats. But I hope this does help someone make a smart life choice on what their end game plan is. Flame away.

Large amounts of the Captains I've flown with have an app out and thats it. No job fairs not regulary updating their application and around half don't have a 4 year degree.
