Not necessarly true - this is going to be coordinated between dispatch and the mainline partner on whether it will be delayed long enough for a deadheading crewmember to be brought in or cancelled and repoed.

Repo flight does not equal ferry flight. Ferry usually refers to a flight that has something MEL'd so that it cannot carry revenue pax.

Realistically speaking, could a brand new hire with plenty of 121 SIC time can expect an upgrade within 12 months? I know someone interested in Mesa (DFW or IAD base).

There are a lot of FOs between the most junior CA and the most senior FO on the list that haven't upgraded and are close to getting their 1000 hours 121.

We only have 7 more 900s and 7 or so 175s to be delivered.

It's just too hard to say, there are just too many factors in play. How many FOs will upgrade this summer? How many will continue to wait? What will attrition be like? Will there be more planes announced?

No one can truly answer your question. It took me 19 months to hold 175 CA from DOH. There was a good 12 months of that time we were not recieving any new aircraft.

CRJ to EJet upgrades: How much studying did you do ahead of training? And did the training experience require perpetual cramming, or was it more manageable? Just trying to gauge whether I'll be able to devote any time to a couple other things I need to pay attention to. Of course, I plan to try hard and study, but if there's a free hour or two every couple days, I was hoping to use that time.

Still doesn't mean it's not a piece of crap right now. "Eventually" in Mesa terms = long time from now.

Please understand an upgrade is more than switching seats and getting paid a little more. ALL the responsibility is on you. You and you alone should WANT to put forth 100% toward being a professional captain. If you're not there, no big deal; just hold off your bid in till you're ready for that responsibility. That is being a professional. If I interpreted your question incorrectly, I apologize. The EJet is an awesome plane. Personally, I don't think I'll go back to the CRJ. Schedules are much better on this side compared to the CRJ side.
