Dude no one even takes you seriously. All you do is chime in to talk **** than chime out. And to mock someone for getting a higher education while your at it is just pathetic.

What's going on with the 175 FO's that upgrade to CRJ CA? I understand they're being held back from a class date... Are they getting captain pay? If they're held back long enough, what if there are not enough captain vacancies on the CRJ to accommodate?

They get captain pay once someone from the upgrade class they WOULD have been in passes their checkride.
And upgrade for people who came here with zero 121 time is still running about 19 months. Jan 2014 hires are just now hitting their 1000 hrs.

As I've conveyed on this thread before--the historical impression of Mesa as a bunch of rednecks with GEDs was formulated based on the last decade, particularly Air Midwest and CC Air. And the handful of low-brow forebears hired out of Appalachia in the 1990s now make up only a small fraction of our seniority list--a bulk of the new hires I have met in the last 18 months have been highly successful individuals with bachelor's, solid business/professional experience in software/consulting/engineering, or people who have flown 135/corporate/jumped ship from other regionals.
On top of that, after several years in academia and high-level biopharma R&D, I can safely say that higher education credentials are not purely correlated with competence, intelligence, and professionalism.

I have a Master's of Science degree in a "hard" science/STEM field, two patents (on which I still earn licensing fees), and 3 papers published in peer-reviewed science journals.

Hey FaceBiter--here is a recently-published Psychology research study, in which two University of Chicago psychologists had MBA students pitch themselves as job candidates via text, voice, and video. They found no statistically significant differences in the evaluations of job candidates between the voice and video experimental treatments.
"Adding visual cues to audio pitches did not alter evaluations of the candidates. For conveying one's intellect, it is important that one's voice, quite literally, be heard."
But I suppose you still know better than Mesa (and University of Chicago PhDs) when it comes to our hiring practices and phone interviews...because, you know, you're a gear monkey for Skywest.
