600 new hires? Can this be right? Is the APC pilot count of 855 pilots accurate? With a lot of the new people being former cfi's with no 121 time is it practical that Mesa may have trouble finding people eligible for upgrade like TSA did and end up with 2013/2014 hires as captains? Is it realistic that Mesa can and will expand this fast?

Also has anyone been called lately for an interview? I have an ATP with right around 1000 hrs turbine multi SIC and no violations/accidents/dwi's etc. I applied a week or so ago on Airlineapps and haven't heard anything. I am assuming they just slowed down for the holidays but I just wanted to check if anyone knows more about this.

Assuming 10 pilots per plane...
30 E175s will require ~300 pilots which we don't have.
attrition over 1 year will be ~40 (conservative estimate)
20 more CRJ's will require ~200
That equals 540
Now whether we need that many all in 2014 is another question because the E175 buildup will continue well into 2015
So as long as the planes come, the crews will HAVE to follow.

Yeah I was afraid that might be over some people's heads but you gotta give respect to the classics. People still make references to the original Airplane movie, a movie that came out over 30 years ago. You have to wonder how many people reading it actually get the joke.

Now get off my lawn!

Ya that's no good. I was hoping for interview here and psa and to pick a January class. Too bad it takes that long. Any way to jump the line with previous 121 time? Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for this breakdown. This seems to make sense.
