Mesa (YV) #1366 ? 16-May-2014 ? KPHX - KABQ ? FlightAware
Uhh so I guess Mesa must have found out that some SkyWest pilots on APC thought that Mesa wasn't doing enough practice flying of the 175s and changed their mind. Fact is they HAVE been doing flights and will continue to do so. Just because some FO saw the planes parked a certain way on the ramp doesn't mean jack. But whatever it takes to spread negative rumors about Mesa. I've heard stories, but MAN they really DO teach the SkyWest pilots to hate Mesa, don't they! There are A LOT of LAMA guys at SkyWest, and they are always reminding us of how much better life is at OO vs Mesa. I've heard many of horror stories of Mesa and JO. I would never ever think of going there no matter how quick the upgrades are. |
Interesting, this thread was started by someone excited to come and work with Mesa and it degrades into chaos.
And let's not forget JO's most recent comments (yesterday) blaming greedy unions and captains for such low pay. BTW...I love how you refer to him as "JO!" I wonder if he got beat up in school? |

I would never ever think of going there no matter how quick the upgrades are. The "good" regionals have too many lifers who cling to their weekends off and don't want to start over at a much better major carrier. So yeah Skywest guys may poke fun at everyone else for now...but when the regionals can't staff and face their demise, these guys will be the ones fighting to keep the regionals around so they can keep their weekends off and live on the west coast for the rest of their lives. Give yourselves a big pat on the back for being so awesome. Those of us at the "bad" regionals could not care less about the regionals, because we don't have much to lose. |

Mesa clearly has much nicer equipment than Skywest (who still have turboprops and 50 seaters) and you know the girls always go after the guys with the larger equipment. ;-) |

All this Mesa bashing baffles me. Actually, it quite honestly makes me sick.
I am treated like a human being here which I was not at RAH. I make more money here than RAH. We have GREAT people in the training dept. We have two GREAT Chief Pilots. I have only been here a year and I hold an 85 hour, 15 day off line. I am looking at a fall upgrade. So first year pay is two dollars less than you Skywest folks? The difference is, if you get in now at Mesa, you will never see 3rd year FO pay, heck you may never see 2nd year FO pay. Good grief. |

I would guess it's much like the guy driving the 15 year old beater car making fun of the guy who drives the 20 year old beater car....but secretly hating him because the guy with the 20 year old car has a hotter girlfriend.

If you can't live on the FO pay at any company don't go there because when the worm turns and downgrades begin you're stuck. |

A bit sarcastic yes....but clearly the fact that Mesa has desirable domiciles and only larger aircraft is a draw for recruitment.
What difference does it make that Mesa has "only larger aircraft", when they pay less than others do on the smaller aircraft? |

The majors, who outsource flying to the regionals, aren't huge fans of 50 seat aircraft. http://www.minnpost.com/business/201...cramped-cabins |
