I caution you that since you have clearly stated who this person is, by name, what his current title at Mesa Airlines, INC. is, and by using such statements as "roid pumping reckless retard pilot." This is borderline libel and could be grounds for a defamation lawsuit.
I have seen judges allow internet records to be subpoenaed many times. Just something to keep in mind.

There is no shortage of jackasses on this site.

What? You can use non-verbal communication to judge someone's character? Might be time for a self evaluation.

It's a wide held belief that body language represents 55% of how we perceive what someone is conveying. Words only account for 7% together with the tone accounts for 45%. So yes, non-verbal communication is indeed used when judging someone.

This is uncalled for. Have you met the pilot in question? I have, and he's not at all a "roid pumping reckless retard". He's a pretty nice guy, in fact. And he doesn't make hiring decisions alone. Given your post history, I'd much rather do a 4-day with him than you.

IMO, the biggest thing with airlines that have very weak screening processes are that you will probably be flying with some interesting characters that would make a 4 day almost unbearable. I quote a 2 year Mesa FO saying that a lot of the CAs are very "creepy".
There should be some sort of measure in place to get quality people.

It's everywhere. When I was at Flex, while climbing out on AP the CA (PF) wanted to show me (PM) semi-nude photos of him and his wife at a swinger's resort. Meanwhile the airspeed was decaying in vertical speed mode. 'Ummmm. Airspeed. Airspeed. Airspeed!"

The pilot population is a microcosm of society - everything seen in the general population (depression, alcoholism, criminal behavior, etc.) occurs within this community; albeit to a lesser degree.

That's my point. You can make your mouth say anything, but reading a persons body language speaks volumes. Better to catch them before you put them out on line. Scary stuff.

What do current Mesa pilots think of this practice?

You are trying to associate creepy pilots being hired due to our close to non existent screening practice? You should not quote an FO that thinks captains are creepy and associate it with today's hiring standards. When I was hired 9 years ago, there was MUCH more than a phone interview. Same goes with a 100% of the other captains on property.

Uhh so I guess Mesa must have found out that some SkyWest pilots on APC thought that Mesa wasn't doing enough practice flying of the 175s and changed their mind.

Fact is they HAVE been doing flights and will continue to do so. Just because some FO saw the planes parked a certain way on the ramp doesn't mean jack. But whatever it takes to spread negative rumors about Mesa. I've heard stories, but MAN they really DO teach the SkyWest pilots to hate Mesa, don't they!
