I guess I'm just concerned that my seniority range in DFW had been treading water for 4 months now; moving up seniorty-wise and staying the same distance from holding a line.
Makes me feel like there's no hope, especially with supposedly many people coming in underneath me with overflowing new-hire classes yet no actual sign of moving up the rung, all for the worst pay in the business (even playing field when I started last year).
Feel like it's worth it to move on, yet also feel it's worth it to stick around and not make lateral moves; to get my 1000 and either upgrade or move right seat to bigger right seat..

It's not about how many are below you when it comes to a line but how many are above. Whether a base as 100 or 300 pilots. If there is only enough block hours for 85 lines there's only 85 lines.

That's correct. There was about 500 hours less block time in April over March due to the finishing up of spring break flying.

Hold tight, the winter months are always lean for flying. I would expect a bit more flying once May, and especially June get here. Even if you're still on reserve in the summer, there is a bit more open time and sick calls, which leads to reserves being used.

Part of the problem is at Mesa we tend to expect everything quick. If you go to a nicer carrier, then you'll go through this all again for a longer time...but with higher pay. The choice is yours.

How many new hires are going to Mesa because they got the tuition reimbursement and were committed to Mesa already?

I haven't met any but I don't think those guys would be out of the flight instructor world yet.

Don't think it's that many; there are better options from other regionals for someone at that point. The referral bonus will probably have a much bigger impact, but even its effect is debatable.

On Reserve Bid:

What exactly is the difference between Long Call and Short Call?

I'm hearing different things.

Where do I go to look up this definition?

Mesa doesn't use long call. Bid it all you want, it doesn't make a difference. It's in the contract, but company doesn't ever elect to use it. Ever. Just bid AM/PM.
