Yes that is accurate. A junior IAD CA slot translates into indefinite reserve as there is no growth on the CRJ side of the house plus the consolidation of the CLT lifers into IAD when they closed the domicile last summer.

Negotiators are meeting with the company this week....maybe we'll hear something soon. Plus, the union wants to do a telephone poll, which is supposed to be highly scientific to see what our top priorities are. I know, our top "wants" are money, $$$, and mo' money. But it could be....money, better hotels, ability to switch planes for captains, removal of base pay, more vacation, etc. Narrow it down to our top 3 and maybe it can be done quicker. Any chance it will be done by the end of the year??

thanks, just trying to find my best foot back into the industry. Left it to sit behind a desk for a while, now I am ready to chew my own leg off. Was former Colgan, then went charter for a bit. I live 5 minutes out of KIAD, so reserve wouldn't be as painful, but I know it's still not the best thing.

My thinking exactly. I can't do FO pay for any sort of extended time which is why I am asking about the Captain situation. Coming in direct entry or being an FO again for a very limited time is the only way I can make this work.

And that's another thing, aside from pay our overnight hotels are the worst part of working here. You will feel safer not wearing a condom with a random off tinder than sleeping in the buff at some of these nasty places. Not even kidding.
Don't be so hasty to take iFlyRC's advice. I think he has good intentions but he comes off as a company koolaid drinker. It's not horrible here on CA pay but you should definitely look elsewhere before coming here. If I lived close to IAD I'd look into this place:

thought about them too. the benefit there is definitely the higher FO pay if that's where I get stuck, plus the training is in the IAD area...lots to think about thanks for all the input

Mesa is a gamble but in your case with your previous time, it could pay off. There are very few situations where Mesa is working for new hires these days, but you might just have the golden ticket.
