Ew. No. To make hitting 1000 TPIC a lot more painless. It's the only base with zero movement, so between the company's shenanigans and commuting to assist right seat anyway, really starting to wonder if it might just be better to get an Airbus type instead. I've tried to be understanding of those fellas with 20+ years, but man, it's getting harder and harder to empathize.
Absolutely. Heck, we should follow the ABX pilots' example and seriously look at a status quo strike. They got two days out of it, and correct me if I'm wrong, but there wasn't any legal backlash. Why wouldn't we?
Go to anyone else in Houston.
There's a training contract. I think it's $12 or $13k, reduced around a thousand dollars a month, so after a year you wouldn't owe anything if you left. In training you get paid minimum guarantee with no per diem ($22.18x76 is your monthly income). There is a bonus but it's not much, you'll never get the full amount, and everyone here will despise you for taking any of it since we didn't get anything and our goal is to starve management of new hires so we can get a new and fair contract after seven years of stalling and bad faith negotiations by the company. Basically, don't come here.

Maybe MAG ALPA should follow suit.

One does not deal with taxes on bonuses. They are withheld (with no input from you), and adjusted at filing time on your 1040. So simple even a pilot can do it!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we fly to ORD. However if we did, I know enough to not arm the approach unless the intercept angle is 45° or less.
Also, I went to a real college, and received a degree in economics, which is why I know how to deal with the taxes from bonuses.

Live in IAH and make $22.18 an hour. Commute to just about anywhere and double (or more) your money.

Hey, Lineup... he's right to question the integrity of that statement. I realize that this company has stayed aloft on the backs of Freedom A listers like yourself but it needs to stop. With attitudes like that it never will.
