Not entirely true. CRJ to ERJ upgrades have been the tougher transition to the left seat and I think that's where the issues have been. There was a period of time where there were some issues but recently things have gone very well for the upgrades. Its a very fair program. I do know of one person who failed and even they would have told you they weren't ready. Its that kind of thing. Not Mesa looking to bust people, simply people showing up not ready.

I meant to put "failing in"...

2 to the 3 out of every upgrade class are failing in the process. Somewhere in the process, and by "fail" I mean checkride bust, oral bust or possible systems exam bust(x2 attempts). People don't realize and some of these upgrades are forgetting that a bust is a bust. A type ride fail a oral fail etc...those are failures to the FAA and potential 121 employers.

No one said Mesa was looking to bust anyone. The numbers are right and in all reality should be as such.

I highly doubt your 2 out of 3 number. If your so positive and back it up, prove it. Otherwise it's like everything on here and more then likely way over exaggerated.

Just a heads up. With the new new website I regained the ability to put up my ballpark line numbers. So expect those to get posted today.

Thanks for the work you do! Does it look like reserves will get used and abused continuing into September, or will there be relief with the downturn from summer flying?

I think he is saying 2 to 3 guys out of each class not 2 out of 3.

Well that's really two separate questions .

As far as block hours, yes everywhere but IAH sees a reduction, with DFW taking the biggest drop. IAH stands firm, but is really a reduction because additional AC came online.

Any truth to the last 2 New-hire classes having cancelled due to not enough people showing up?

Considering the standing bid that just came out listed an August 5th class. No.

I have nothing but good things to say about Mesa's training department and check airman. No one wants to fail anyone, they don't want to fail you on upgrade, they all work their butt off to get you through. If you fail an upgrade then a piece of the puzzle was missing that couldn't be fixed without more experience.
