Bahaha, E-X-Actly. Everyone clamoring for mediation especially with more than a couple of items on the table you've just learned a valuable lesson: be very cracking careful what you ask for, you might get it and find out you're not getting what you thought. Mediation is a useful tool and required step to striking but it's not a cure for management intransigence.
Oh, and for all those who think that CA rep in DFW is a "straight up guy", look what he did to the two guys whose name were on that letter who had no idea it was going out literally over their signature. That was just plain wrong, X didn't deserve that nonsense after all he's done for this pilot group.
The CA rep in DFW needs to be recalled by the DFW pilots before he does anymore damage. He's a very loose cannon.

This contract has been in negotiation for something like 8 years or there abouts? One of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So we have someone that says what many of us are thinking and wish was being said and the people that have been negotiating this thing for years want to silence him. Let's take E.L attitude into negotiations and see where it gets us. God knows we have gotten no where in 8 years. What have we got to lose? (Notice I used "lose" and not "loose".)
If ALPA removes EL, it will divide the group even more. Magpbs, I would strongly urge the rest of the council to let this go.

This is the only point I agree with that No Land has put up.

If you don't think EVERYONE involved doesn't want this done, you need to think again. But you can only go as fast as the other side will move. What would YOU do differently than everyone involved up until now? Seriously? Did you put your name up to be a negotiator?
Oh, and it wouldn't be ALPA removing EL, it would be the pilots in the DFW council. I guess in your wise narrative telling MAGPBS to "let it go" you didn't know that, nor apparently do you seem to know or understand that MAGPbs is the Council Secretary/Treasurer so any motions like that would come to him to be placed on the meeting agenda, he's probably NOT the one who placed the item there (although who could blame him after being blindsided like that). If the council 85 pilots vote to keep him, so it shall be.

The decision will be made by the pilots at the meeting. If enough support it, it will move forward. If it's only a handful of people it will fail.
It's not my agenda. Just sharing the word.

Please let us know if all the complainers volunteer for alpa positions.

Alright. Fair point on the response. When I said ALPA I meant us. We are ALPA. WHy has this negotiation been going on for so long? 8 years isn't it? From where I sit it looks like we are playing by the rules and management keeps saying no or continues to drag this out. What good is a union (any union) if it can't do what it's chartered to do? What am I paying union dues and an ALPA assessment for? We have some of the worst pay and work rules in the industry.
At what point do you pound on the table so to speak? After 10 years? 12 years? If we get a decent contract it won't be solely because of the union. It will be the lack of pilots and JO finally giving in to the fact that he needs a fair wage to attract pilots. Why would he negotiate if he's filling classes. He's said it himself.
