Quote: CKA like the extra money that feeds their family, you are just and avenue to that money. if told to bust you, bust you will be, but money is money and the CKA will get their money. facts of life.
This is ridiculous.

I love all our CKA's. They won't be doing the failing, they'll designate a single hitman to do the dirty work for the company, should they choose to go that route

right, because it doesn't happen. so much for your knowledge.

Well, I have first hand knowledge.....So much for that. Has it ever happened? Maybe. Is it something LCAs do on a regular basis? Absolutely not. A student is not just "extra money".

This company cannot afford to be firing anyone for a botched line check right now. All they will do is pull that person offline, give them some sim time, sign them off and send them back to the line a "reformed individual" where they will demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and aeronautical expertise!! We are so short of pilots in both seats its not even funny. Anyone who was flying around Texas this last week and had to deal with tracking, maintenance, etc, can confirm just how jacked up things are getting around here....

Bottom line is people need to stop going to that dumpster fire (putting it nicely). Worst pay and benifits (no signs of getting better), worst hotels and treatment of crews and just an absolute joke of a crew tracking department. When you need help and have to deal with $h!t bags like Valerie in crew line you'll see the lack of compassion or even care this company has for any crew member. Not to mention the joke of travel benifits to try and get home for commuters. Walking around in DFW is hard to do when you see the Mesa guys/gals standing around a gate looking like puppies trying/hoping to make it home for their two days off. The only two things worthy of note are the training department and the APD's who actually do care about making Mesa a better place with one arm tied behind their backs and the regional cp's in DFW and PHX.

I'm long gone but have buddies there who share the stories of that place. If you're a noob and looking to get some time there I can promise you better opportunities exist elsewhere. This company has no future and shouldn't be included in yours. Good luck to all the folks trying to make the move out of that place!

I wish I could justify leaving.. I'm just now accumulating PIC time and I'm not so sure about going to Spirit, Frontier, etc. Yes they are better places, but shouldn't I, at this point, shoot for a Legacy carrier? They say PIC time doesn't matter when it fact it does. Yes people get hired without it, but that frequency is incredibly low. I haven't quite been here 2 years and am left seat on the 175. I live in IAH and can't justify making another lateral move. You do have all valid points though.

Quote: Its a suite with a kitchen. Its not bad. The shuttle takes you to the grocery store or Walmart on demand. But yeah, Mesa is a very difficult place to work the first 2 years until you upgrade. Low pay, terrible and I mean terrible benefit package (worse than really any job I have ever been familiar with in any industry), along with a number of other previously stated complaints.
Did you just call microtel a suite?? Not close. And you find having access to a gas station and Walmart acceptable choices for food. Jesus, I see why Mesa can stay at the bottom, if that mentality is strong among your group, then management doesn't even have a challenge.
