Based on what I see here, I have to say: not bad, I expected worst from J.O. to be honest. However, it still doesn't feel right. 100% deadhead pay, and some sort of minimum day or duty rig would have made me happy.
Also, I have noticed that some people here with apparent inside info are hinting at some funny language issues, I will also pay close attention to that since I think thats where the company trick is. I apologize for making this assumption before having the TA in my hands, but somebody please give me a good reason of why should I expect something different from Mesa and J.O.
This is just my preliminary opinion based on what I have seen here. I will take my time to read the TA and make my decision.

The fact of negotiations is that everything has a cost associated with it and everything is a give and take. This time around, we believe we gained as much as we possibly could and in a way that aligned with the priorities of our pilot group.
The 12 days off came with a very large price tag so based on the polling data we ultimately made the decision to prioritize other areas.
We always knew that this TA wasn't going to be perfect, but like an earlier poster said "It is a good foundation" and we agree. However, if we don't solidify the foundation we will never have the opportunity to continue building and we will continue to fall behind.
Rome wasn't built in a day.

I guess I don't understand the fear of telling them no on this. Right now, pilots hold the upper hand and should be confident in that. Don't worry about JO, what is he going to do? He has to fall in line else lose more and more pilots, cancel more and more flights.

Yeah I get that, but settling just for the sake of it doesn't make sense either. As another poster said, Republic pilots voted no several times until it was the way they wanted it.

We realize that ...
But, this contract is still more like east LA or south Chicago. Even if it passes (which is doubtful), we will STILL be the regional with the least desirable overall pay and working conditions. To say that it is a step in the right direction isn't enough. What is fair, and should be DEMANDED by the committee is something that is at least industry average. You are finally in a position to force management into giving that because they know that with things as they are now, getting and keeping enough pilots on the roster to cover the flying we have now not to mention more shiny Ejets is impossible.
We appreciate all that you folks are doing for us. And, only a few weeks into mediation and already they're offering something better, only marginally better ... but better. And, that's something that rarely, if ever has happened with JO at the controls. That should tell you something! He likes to play hardball so get up and, for once, let him see what it's like to be given a real game!

When you put the percentages up like that, you do a good job of spinning the facts. Mesa is years behind other non-wholly owned carriers. YEARS! These new pay rates don't do us justice especially when you consider anyone with a family here cant afford to buy the insurance.
How is it that every other carrier can offer affordable health insurance and better contract language almost across the board? Mesa can't even be comparative on pay rates when they already have less contract exposure.

22.19 x 1.62 = $35.95
$36 is TA FO first year.
Maybe sumtinwong with your head.

FO's do get a big increase until DOS+2, but I think he's referring to Captain increases, which still fall below our peers.
Another fun fact: seniority list just updated to a total of 1170 pilots, down from 1188. That's with new hires still coming and claiming their illegal bonuses. Couldn't come at a worse time for the company since they're taking delivery of the new Ejets, and mainline hiring will pick up more once summer ends. We may actually have leverage going forward.

Those bonuses aren't illegal, as ruled by past courts. Ejets are owned by United.
I'm not going to dispute pay at Mesa vs. other regionals because I can't, but I heard they were hiring as well with bonuses and quick upgrades just for you!!

Frankly I don't care what the judge ruled; the bonuses are a clear and unlawful violation of the status quo during Section 6 negotiations as well as a blatant ethical transgression. I understand there's not much we can do now, but I'll never accept them as lawful.

doesn't matter if you accept them.
