Thanks for trying to keep the discussion real and balanced.

Just curious what your source is regarding FDP of 20k average. I’ve got an FDP average from a cross section of about 50 guys I talk to regularly of approximately $30-35k. The highest was upper $40s in mid cabin flying.

$20k FDP would for for someone in the CC52 or someone who was on medical for half the year.

The union recently put out information in this. They used this to explain why the daily minimum for union work and static demos went down to about 2.6 hours of FDP credit after an entire year of data showing averages. It was 3.2 to start. The union actually stated that the average work tour for all pilots came out to 16.91 hours of flight time per tour for the 3rd quarter. That would be around 4.8 hours of FDP pay per tour on average across the board. The other 2 four month "quarters" for 2019 averaged slightly higher, but less than a whole hour more per tour. For a 7&7 pilot with 4 vacations per year that would be 20 tours at about 5 hours of FDP pay per tour. This would would only be 100 hours of FDP pay for the year or $11800. That does seem way low, but those are the actual numbers given by the Union. My best guess is that the average includes the 100+ pikots out on medical leave and also the union pilots that are on union duty rather than flying. I thought I read an average of 20K in FDP from the union also, but I couldn't find that email. There really are many who cranked out 30K to 40K in FDP, but that wasn't average, especially in the legacy fleets that have many more mx issues.

Well now you can add in someone who made $8,800 in 12.1 tour pay and another $3,100 in miscellaneous NFAD for the year. That was 7-7 with ONE fatigue call and ONE two day sick call.

But I'm sure you'll dismiss it from your "cross-section" because it doesn't fit your narrative.

Large cabin doesn’t seem to be the place for making FDP. If it’s an active Large Cabin, I’ve heard that Night Duty and Night Floght is where it’s at.

How active are the remaining 20 Gulfstreams these days in flying long distance, multi time zone trips?

More FDP is just a bid away for you. Longitude will crank a lot of FDP.

Yeeeeeeeah but the problem with averages is that it cloaks true potential.

Averages of short tour schedules like any short tour option or the CC52 mask what FDP earnings truly are if you’re looking to actually make money by selecting the 7n7, CC72, CC76. You have to be on a 7day plus tour schedule option and the true FDP will occur simply by exposure to successive daily scheduling.

4 days might feel good to some it I see it as more airlining and no FDP over 7 day plus options.

If you want to work at a fractional I wouldn’t let that be the only deciding factor. NetJets SIC pay is equal to or better PICs at those other companies. Why do you think there are 10+ year SICs that are staying and not going elsewhere?

Actually, NetJets SIC pay is MUCH better than PIC pay at ANY other operator. Just compared W2s with a NetJets 10 year FO. He worked 28 days less and made $18k more than I did.

Why would you even post something like this?

Because in the context of the fractional forum, it is true.

I have been a working professional for 28 years. Some positions paid very well and some did not. I cannot even imagine sitting down with someone, other than a spouse or accountant, and show W2’s complete with address and social security numbers. A W2 is a deeply personal document. It just seems odd that something like this would happen. Seems these types of comments are purely incendiary and for the entertainment of the poster.

You should see the thread in the Majors section that happens thos time every year comparing pay. It is rather informative and makes most fractional pilots sick to their stomache when they see how well paid even the regionals are now. That said, they aren't literally showing their W2s.
