I'm 5'10.5" with a 30" inseam and I still had one click left (maybe 2) on the NJA Phenom 300's rudder pedal adjustment.

I know a guy with a short torso but REALLY long legs. The company insisted on an in-person fit test. Union observer said "no f'ing" way. Program director said "he fits, he's in the Phenom." The dude is miserable but that was the point.

This is not true. Newhires are allowed into any non "large cabin" fleet. Pilots just off probation have been junior assigned into the Globals and super junior pilots have been allowed out of their seat locks for the 650, but no new hires have been put into the 650 or Global and won't be without union approval.

Watch the next bid that comes out.

It's semantics, but I would personally define those who I believe Swedepilut is talking about as probationary pilots, not new hires.
If my understanding of the CBA is correct, because they just waived seat locks on the 650 on the last bid they are now allowed to place new hires into that fleet as their initial fleet assignment. I have no idea how long they are allowed to do that post the waived seatlock award as the contract does not seem to specify. There is a relatively large class worth of fleet assignments dropping this Friday, so we will have to see what happens.
Up until that happens, yes there are junior pilots ending up in the 650 and Globals. Some have ended up being junior manned into those fleets, but that can only happen after completing your probationary year (1+ years on property). The most recent award waived seat locks allowing probationary pilots (sub-1 year on property) to be awarded the 650.
