I'm sure some junior pilots will take the bait, but I'm guessing we will actually see some newhires sprinkled in.
They can't assign new hires large cabin until they waive seat locks and that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.

Did you see the April 25th 6000 SIC award? The email specifically says there were NO ELIGIBLE UNLOCKED BIDDERS for both the 6000 and 650 SIC slots. All the slots were filled with pilots who had their seat locks waived. There is another bid for May that has 24 6000 slots and 4 650 slots. It is very likely that every single slot is once again unbid by unlocked pilots. I believe it is unlikely that there will be enough waived pilots to fill these slots and I am 99.9% positive that the company will not junior assign them after watching almost every pilot they junior assigned within the last year get upgrades, thusly wasting millions of dollars in the training musical chairs.

You're reading it wrong.

If they waive seat locks they are going to have to waive a specific pilot who has a 9 year seat lock out there. It might be 8 by now.

So they will continue to junior assign until they are forced to waive seat locks which isn't happening anytime soon.

You are the one that needs to read again- it specifically says, "Because we had a shortage of unlocked bidders, we are waiving equipment locks in accordance with 2024AA, 15.4(C)(1). These pilots were awarded this position as a result of waiving equipment locks". That is the verbiage. Exactly. All waived. No junior assignment. They will likely not be junior assigning ever again since that unlocks the pilots and doesn't force the 24 month PIC lock on them. We will likely be seeing many Global and 650 nowhere pilots until upgrades go to 3+ years again.

Question

Although it seems like a very low possibility, what is the downside of getting assigned the Globals out of new hire training? Long time lurker here applying in a year or so, I would think the 5000/6000 have good maintenance and FDP or is it much lower than something like a laitutde? Is the FO seat lock longer?
I apologize for any missed terms in my post, still learning.

The mx is hit or miss like most of the fleets and has been lower lately with scheduling using them to recover smaller airplane trips too much. The FDP is on the low side. The Lattitude and 350 are the kings of FDP. The seat lock is the same as all the others for the Globals. The training is longer- likely a month+ in Columbus with some days off in there, but not enough for the company to send you home. That month+ is on top of basic indoc training that you will likely do before the sim.

Thanks for this! Anyone have the airframe assignments for the April 29th hires?

Looks like there's a lot of people about to be sitting at home waiting for Phenom IOE...

It appears they're changing the IOE footprint to cut the wait times
