Jetlife, on post 713, page 72 of this thread your advice was a little different to what it is now. It seems you loose interest with your new jobs very quickly.
If you're married I'll bet your wife is a nervous lady.
I wonder how long it will take before that new car smell fades at your new job.
Your posts would have much more credibility if your emotions didn't corrupt your statements.
It really makes it difficult for a prospective applicant to get the true picture.

the only stagnation is at netjets, where you waste a decade or two of earning potential while falling farther and farther behind the industry. that's why the exodus. spoke to crew records (DM) about PRIA delays a few weeks ago and she said that they are swamped like they've never been before with requests for potential departures.
I'm predicting at least 100 FO departures from the ranks this year which will just clog the training pipeline (even with 2 phenom sims) and further skewing the captain/fo ratio.

You should be able to read a forum, or talk to people that work there, and that should automatically give you first hand experience and a first hand perspective on a job. "You read about it, why are you surprised?" That is simpleton behavior.

I took a job where it'll take at least 10 years to upgrade (SWA), but that is fine bc I'll make more at year 2 here than I was going to be at year 10 at NJA. That isn't stagnation, that's just a long upgrade.

Only 10 years at SWA?
You're dreaming. That pilot group is young!
Thanks for keeping up with us at NetJets though!! Sounds like you're very satisfied with your choice.

Leaving with a retirement pension is, you guessed it, retirement. And of course I haven't flown for a major, otherwise I'd still be there. Until recently though, it really was for lack of trying. I like GA flying (smaller airports, FBOs, more interaction with pax, etc), and I thought NJA would make for a good career. I believed in balloons and ponies for a decade, despite the furlough, company shrinking, people dying off the seniority list instead of retiring, the list goes on. The realization that the last decade of my career has been a waste is a tough one to accept, but once I did, it hit me like a ton of bricks. So now I'm getting the logbook caught up and will be sending out apps for the first time in quite a while. To paraphrase someone you're familiar with, I'm taking control of my career.

To somebody like Das Auto who cannot fathom why a post 2 years ago would be different than today, you'd be right.

NetJets must have really traumatized you with their abuse. I hope your new employer makes all your dreams come true and you never have to vacuum the carpet of a private jet ever again.
Good luck with your new endeavor.

I apologize if I hurt your feelings with my observation. You seem like a sensitive fellow so i'll try not to offend you with my future posts.

I believe it. I've gotten several calls recently from senior Captains with interviews and others who are looking to get out.

We have ten sims operating right now. The new training center is opening this year with 18 sims and the capacity for 24.
There are massive plans to expand internationally.
The only real questions are will the economy hold out and allow them to execute their plans, and will we merge with another carrier.
I will probably be one who bypasses. Being a senior FO here is just too good.
