I'll do my best to be as helpful as possible.

According to NJA, you aren't qualified and will need to get to 2500 for them to even look at you.

There are a lot of corporate jobs out there, have you narrowed it down to a certain company/region/aircraft type or are you using the term "corporate" to mean "flying a small jet as opposed to a commercial airliner" ?

So maybe in 1.5-2 years you'll have the time and NJA will be hiring. Congrats, you'll be stuck in a Phenom at a company where the likelihood of making captain before 2035 looks bleak (unless there are major changes afoot).

The best reason to work at NetJets is the "home basing" and quite frankly you'll probably have to move to the mainland for almost any job. You might as well just get a job at an airline, live in base, and make millions more over your career.

Thanks for the help.
Ideally West Coast base, maybe TX or CO could work too.
I`m from Tahiti originally, so I`m far away from home no matter. I feel like I`m pretty open-minded.
Would love to land a G-V/DA-2000 job, even though this would be near impossible to achieve with no precious Corporate experience.

Definitely considering Regional as well, it`s just the Reserve time are getting longer. My feeling is it was best to get in 121 a few months ago. Now companies like Skywest or Compass are accounting for 6-8 months reserve

Unfortunately, going to NJA and flying a Phenom or Excel is going to help not at all in landing a corporate G-V or D2000 job.

If you live in base, reserve isn't bad at all - I'd get a job at a regional and move to my base.

Don't get any FAs pregnant.

Can't believe that with all the talk from the Union about a mandatory retirement age, that this thread is not more active.

I guess it speaks to the general excitement level of people regarding working at Netjets.

There are larger systemic issues at play. Getting rid of some old people does nothing for the day to day QOL, the pay, expansion, upgrades etc.

So you say

Deep down, in places we won't talk about at cocktail parties or in crew rooms, we KNOW there needs to be a mandatory retirement age to remove the fossils who lack the intellectual honesty to realize they have passed their expiration date.

Just as Threat and Error Management employs flows and checklists to "capture" mistakes, so to does a mandatory age capture the outliers. Arbitrary? Certainly. Necessary? You damn skippy.

But we all know that the threat of litigation will prevent the company from moving on this issue. It will only come from a regulatory change.

So far, the Union and the PAC have tried to stay at arm's length. The acid test will come if an NPRM surfaces to harmonize 135/91K with Part 121. My guess is the PAC will then lobby AGAINST that regulatory change and it will vindicate my decision to NOT support the PAC.

Unless and until an NPRM surfaces, it's just much ado about nothing.

Until a mandatory retirement age comes (and it will), younger pilots sill continue to feed our older friends Ensure, and guide them at night when they can't see. Rumor is, FLYLOW22 is going to hire them as front door greeters at his bar.
