But we all know that the threat of litigation will prevent the company from moving on this issue. It will only come from a regulatory change.

So far, the Union and the PAC have tried to stay at arm's length. The acid test will come if an NPRM surfaces to harmonize 135/91K with Part 121. My guess is the PAC will then lobby AGAINST that regulatory change and it will vindicate my decision to NOT support the PAC.

Unless and until an NPRM surfaces, it's just much ado about nothing.
Excellent post. However, should the union decider to publicly oppose a regulatory safety initiative, the PR black eye they'd suffer would be devastating. Furthermore, they would incur a massive DFR lawsuit from those crew members not willing to concede the safety benefits of the rule change in favor of political maneuvering...or due to just a general lack of testicular fortitude from the union. In short, they'd lose their ass if they tried that crap.

NJASAP is a pretty good union , only one that I think is better is UPS's IPA , but in its present iteration I have relatively few complaints, testicular fortitude is not one of their deficits : ) VOTE FOR PEDRO : )

It's a pretty good union for sure. Not very powerful but pretty good overall.

I happen to feel quite differently.

The leadership's willingness to: return one of the foulest excuses of a human being to a position of major importance, embrace and excuse the bullying behavior of their most visible mouthpiece, and pursue an obvious vendetta against a particular subset of the membership has forced me to withdraw my support.

I voted NO on the contract and will vote NO on this leadership's choice of the next rubber stamp E-Board member.

That's okay. It is still somewhat of a free country. You're allowed to be wrong...

Perhaps NJASAP is filled with fraud, deceit and inefficiency, it's just that most members don't realize it yet?

Having been a member of BOTH....

I support your assessment. NJASAP has the unfortunate mission of "herding cats" though... that makes it twice as tough.
