GeeWizDriver have you got heartburn over other pilots being informed as to what is going on with the hiring process ?
I think it is only fitting that the line guys and new pilots looking at putting a application and going through two days of interviewing not including to and from Columbus consider and look at the facts.

I'm trying to PROVIDE information to potential new-hires:
RUN. The other direction.
Once upon a time, NetJets was a decent place to work. For any pilot under the age of 45 or even 50 trying to grow their career and with no show-stoppers in their background, there are literally a dozen better career opportunities out there.
Besides, we have already established that the company is telling BALD FACED LIES to applicants regarding upgrade times. Why do you want "information" like that?
I was speaking with tongue in cheek regarding the unsubscribe comment (unsubscribe from NETJETS). What I really meant was DON'T COME TO WORK FOR NETJETS when you can do so much better.

Congrats on putting your family first.
There is a lot of industrial weight put on the salary we make in our year before retirement and what fleet we end up in.
A lot of pilots ignore the turd sandwich we eat in the years up to retirement and the effect it has on our QOL, health and family.
It is my opinion if more pilots elevated the importance of their time out of the cockpit we would all be better off.

Go ahead and bash away. Financial gain isn't always everyone's primary objective.

I don't know much about the NJA QOL, or the salaries and what nots... But I do know that between the regionals and possibly NJA, there are a lot of police officers forgoing their pensions and coming to work as pilots. Funny thing is, they're finding comparable, if not better compensation and benefits, and the quality of life is far better than they had it as LEOs, even if it does mean not being home every night.

Ask them in 10 years if that was a wise choice. Single people I bet. Wait until they have a family and they cant coach their kids soccer team or their daughters are crying because Daddy is leaving for 7 days...again.

Getting back to NetJets. Why do many pilots stay on indefinitely, well past an appropriate retirement age? Well, there a lot of senior pilots on the 72 and 76 day schedules. Many haven't seemed to save an adequate amount for retirement and have lived well beyond their means. Some others have family dysfunction or a poor quality of life at home. I'm of the opinion if airlines didn't have a mandatory medical out age the same problem would exist there, many pilots seem to be of that personality type.

Taking a job at NetJets in 2017 (rhetorical since they aren't hiring) pushes you into a situation where you are much more likely to have to keep working into your old age.

Bobo said plans to hire for the indefinite future. I believe he said 12 a month. We'll see if they stick with that number. Their track record isn't stellar. I won't defend the jacked up hiring process so lets move past that.
One does have to ask, why is attrition low resulting in extremely long upgrades? Because the job is sooo horrible????
Bash away.
