Bobo said plans to hire for the indefinite future. I believe he said 12 a month. We'll see if they stick with that number. Their track record isn't stellar. I won't defend the jacked up hiring process so lets move past that.
One does have to ask, why is attrition low resulting in extremely long upgrades? Because the job is sooo horrible????
Bash away.

Also, if we were replacing the outgoing PICs with new upgrades, things may be different. Instead, we are shrinking. Not a good recipe for upgrades.

Because those that upgraded after maybe six months on property, and contractually prevented from downgrade when we furloughed nearly 500, are doing a whole lot better than those who are looking at a 15+ year upgrade time.

I believe a truer measure of company growth would be "how many meetings take place at the VP or higher level to determine at what date M&Ms should not be kept as onboard standard stock."
We are wasting literally hundreds of dollars each year in melted M&Ms. Trim.That.Fat.

Yea, reducing fleet size, reducing the number of pilots, making pilots work harder though higher utilization schedules, 5 legs a day on the road, the company isn’t shrinking, it’s growing!!!
Just wait until NJA unveils peanut M&Ms on board, upgrades willl go down to 2 years.

can we all agree that NetJets disastrous compensation package (for those being hired now) puts you at an extreme disadvantage for saving for retirement? Both the base compensation as well as the lack of DC into 401k put you hundreds of thousands of dollars behind even LCCs.
Taking a job at NetJets in 2017 (rhetorical since they aren't hiring) pushes you into a situation where you are much more likely to have to keep working into your old age.

I'm in the pool and still deciding if I'll go if/when the call comes. Right now I'm on 8&6 with only 1 tour a year vacation whether I've been here 1 or 10 years. I'd take more time at home over a bigger salary but that's just me.

After completion of your suxth, I mean sixth, year you are fully vested. I can't seem to locate the schedule for partial vesting.

Conversely, I know several who live in DAL, commute to SFO. They maybe stay in their crash pads 2 times a month and they can fly SWA or company to the bay area on like 20 daily flights. Several commute from Denver and don't even have crash pads. There are flights to and from DEN literally 24 hours a day on 4 different airlines. You just list on your flight, get on, ride the JS if you need to, and you get where you are going.
It was so much more stressful standing in line, with a group 6 middle seat, knowing your bag wouldn't get on without you checking it, only to know in the back of your mind that NetJets could pull you off on your stopover to have you do a trip, and you have no bag.
Is being home based easier than commuting from the middle of nowhere for a regional working 22 days a month? Abso-freaking-lutly. Living in base will always be easier in the airlines than commuting, but there are plenty of commutes that I would personally pick over NJA home basing.

If you live near an airport where you can hop a non stop flight to your domicile, I promise you your commute will be easier than your first and last day at NJA. At NJA, on your go home day, you will fly 3-4 legs, then be given at least a 2 leg flight home, I have flown 4 legs, and have been given a 4 leg airline more than a few times on my last day. Same with day one. I have on several occasions parked at OAK, gotten a rental to somewhere nearby to either pick up an airline or hop on an airline, and and done several more legs without touching a pax leg.

Curtain #1- A copy of an inflight magazine replete with the ad- "you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate for."
Curtain #2- A SWA bag of peanuts that I left in my pocket last week.
Curtain #3- A silver twist Hilton Hotel pen (remember those) that is about to run out of ink.
