The whole "My gig is better than your gig." is old, lame and frankly just juvenile amoungst professionals. I fail to understand why some guys, and not just 121 guys, feel a need to justify their career choices to anyone. If they are happy with their decision, why seek affirmation of it. Opps! Thread creep.
On a different note, does anyone know how many times a furloughee can bypass recall before returning to the schoolhouse?
Thanks

121 life has never appealed to me--that's why I chose the fractionals. But to each his own. I once ran into a nine-year United FO who said he was earning $80k/year and didn't know when he was going to upgrade. You can almost make that much as a new-hire for NJs on the 18-day schedule.

Bottom line is my friends in the 121 world get paid more and work WAY less than me. BTW you live to work on the 18 day schedule. You will have absolutely no life.

People looking for advice should ask the people who have done both types of flying (not regional flying). There are far too many guys who get their negative stereotypes, of other flying, off message boards and 1 or 2 disgruntled employees.

But to each his own. Everyone's situation is different, and it's great to see NetJets calling folks back.
