Company indoc is cheap. It is based on sim slots. There is no point in recalling 30 and having to pay them to sit around waiting to go to training. The company has plans to recall more I bet but they won't being sharing that info with anybody.

They would probably recall everyone and hire tomorrow, but there's no way they will find Sim time to train everyone. This should've been done years ago.

Interesting, thanks. Hadn't thought about that paid pregnant pause between ground and sim trng. I'm wondering if the numbers in that six are representative of what to expect in the future. I suppose a sample size of 6 is statistically meaningless.

Seems like relations between the company and the three/four unions is really poisoned. I foresee no relief anytime soon.
Management has found that it can be very profitable to do more and more with less and less. Recalling a few pilots allow it to sell-off more and more flights, while attrition is keeping the number of active pilots essentially the same, or actually fewer.
Smart management (short term).
