How many are left on furlough? The profile page says 465, but is that accurate?

I think the number is closer to 460 or so.

That would jibe with the 6 recalls.

6?

About the same number of pilots they've fired recently....

Attrition, indeed.

I would be interested in your source. Though I don't doubt it, it seems that the resources to gin up a ground school for just 6 would be a waste.

Company indoc is cheap. It is based on sim slots. There is no point in recalling 30 and having to pay them to sit around waiting to go to training. The company has plans to recall more I bet but they won't being sharing that info with anybody.

It's true, only six. Three deferred, three never called back and their waiting to hear from those three...

They would probably recall everyone and hire tomorrow, but there's no way they will find Sim time to train everyone. This should've been done years ago.

Interesting, thanks. Hadn't thought about that paid pregnant pause between ground and sim trng. I'm wondering if the numbers in that six are representative of what to expect in the future. I suppose a sample size of 6 is statistically meaningless.

I don't think NJ management has any intention of recalling pilots except as required by the working agreement concerning sell-offs.

Seems like relations between the company and the three/four unions is really poisoned. I foresee no relief anytime soon.

Management has found that it can be very profitable to do more and more with less and less. Recalling a few pilots allow it to sell-off more and more flights, while attrition is keeping the number of active pilots essentially the same, or actually fewer.

Smart management (short term).

Good luck, guys. Buckle up.
