the IAH flying was supposed to be the replacement for the Saabs with dash's starting in April. Colgan's pro-rate agreement is up for renewal then and my friends at commutair were really talking it up as if it was a possibility but april is right around the corner and no announcement... starting to question the rumor.

I would question that time frame. In less then 4 months they are going to repaint twelve or so airplane, most likely send some people thru a difference training for the aircraft, train the replacement crews for the aircraft already in service(supposed doubling of fleet) and sort out whatever behind the scenes operation issues. For them to start placing one plane a month in iah starting in april is a tall order.

In order to ramp up for this type of growth the training dept has stated that they would need 90 days prior to the first new aircraft being placed into service. (One delivery per month) We are currently interviewing/hiring alot of people, not just pilots, but FA's, MX and are also bringing more pilots on as sim instructors and check airman. Again, not understaffed at all either..Something may just be brewing...

Forgive my ignorance but do you fly for Colgan, or Commutair? Last I'd heard, Commutair was interviewing but Colgan was not going to until the new year. Although I have been known to be wrong before.

I am currently in the hiring pool for CommutAir...I heard that they are planning a March 15th class. Anyone heard anything about the new planes or anything? Is this hiring just due to attrition? Thanks!!

That's never stopped Continental before. You should've seen when RAH started flying CRJs for them. That was messy for a while. They got it worked out though.
