Yes, you have to either give up your seniority at your airline or sign a 2 year $12,000 training contract in which $500 is taken off for each month of service.

Hey guys, I got an interview here next week and I was wondering if anyone has any updates on training whether there is still a pool or if you go straight into class? Also if there is any truth to the rumor of an IAH base opening in the near future? Thanks everyone.

Straight to the pool....rumors of a May class. The rumors of an IAH base are "true" according to management but that goes along with getting Dash 8-300s. CommutAir wasn't sure and probably still isn't sure on when they are getting those airplanes. If you find anything out, please post or PM me. I am in the pool but do not want to go to CommutAir if they do not get these new aircraft. The pay is horrible and if you are furloughed, expect to sign a 2 year $12,000 training contract.

Yes, you are correct. It just didn't seem very appealing to me to give it up for $21 first year and $22 second year.

If you are furloughed from Mesa you should expect to be a very attractive candidate to the C5 management team. They will know you are willing to put up with the incredibly bad schedules and horrible pay here at C5. As to what to expect when you get here I imagine it will be much like Mesa but worse. I would seriously consider if you want to get mixed up in the C5 lifestyle. For just one example, if you do a standup overnight, or several days of them the last day does not count as a work day against the minimum days off rule. It is possible to get 4 days off a bid if you work all standups.

What exactly does this have to do with the topic at hand other than trying to insult another pilot group? And last time I checked it wasn't just Mesa that has horrible pay or scheduling.

You must not have checked very hard. The pay everywhere sucks, but the work rules at mesa are atrocious.

No the work rules in general for all regional airline pilots are attrocious. However the constant bickering which occurs between pilot groups prevents any of us from actually improving our quality of life. Unfortunately many in management positions know and understand this as well.
There is no "great" regional airline to work at.
