If you couple the price of fuel and easier staffing model I think we will see that ATL and IAD will be our bases rather than the outstation, but that's just me speculating.

Don't forget the new rest rules, your company might be looking at out station bases in a way to mitigate the effects of it!

Also considering we can't cheat and use 135 rest rules on the Saab, like we could on the 1900. Let the scheduling nightmares begin, I mean continue.

Well this is gonna be interesting.

If anyone needs a ride next month I'll have my car.

^+1!!!!!

To those coming in off the street into the Saab, be warned that a new staffing bid is likely to displace you into the 1900. Assuming the staffing bid is honored...

Why would there be any displacements? Vacancies- of course but displacements?

Anything is possible but I do not see Silver training new hires on the SAAB just to see them put right into 1900 training less than a month out of training. I think some of you guys wanting the SAAB but currently on the 1900 maybe disappointed with company plans until they get more SAABs online and start replacing the 1900 at a quicker pace. I am just stating this from the business side of what their plans maybe.

What does your contract say about vacancies and staffing bids?

Yea this...

I will fly whatever they want me to. Besides, I think the 1900 is a fantastic bird, and I truly hate to be put in front of anyone wanting the Saab. But unfortunately we don't get a say in it as new hires.

But with all that said I don't see them spending so much money to train someone in the Saab, only to put them in the 1900. I would imagine they are planning on getting more Saabs in this year than they originally intended.

What changed your mind about Silver?

Haha I think it went well. Only took 2 months to get the call!

(See below)

Gonna have to turn it down, they weren't offering a CA position (at least to me) and I make more currently.

Sucks because I REALLY wanted to come over! :(

Salukipilot4590,

Did I understand correctly, that you turned their offer down?

Did your last post indicate that you are in the Jun 4 class?

What happened ?

Fill us in! :)
