IMO, the outstation bases really aren't that bad. I can't speak for the forthcoming southern bases, but the PA and WV bases are relatively cheap, for $200-300 a month, you get your own room. Gas is pretty cheap in these towns ($.40 cheaper per gallon than at home for me). Yes, commuting is a hassle, but its not impossible. I wake up at 530, catch a 40 minute flight to CLE, then a 60 minute flight to LGA, and im home by 930. Others dont have it so easy... The company says that it doesn't save them much money to have a base at the hub, because of overnights and whatnot. Obviously bases at IAD and ATL would also give us more per diem. And it sure would be a lot more convenient for the pilots for commuting. I mean, a pilots QOL is the upmost important factor to airlines, right? *rolls eyes*

I'm hoping ATL is a base if not I guess I'll be staying put in TPA then. The cities that one poster listed for bases are too far of a drive to make it a worthwhile commute back and forth between Atlanta.

Just got off the phone with the CP's office, they're putting us up at the Sheraton, not the Springhill Suites, and the training will be done at the Sheraton in the conference room, not at the training center.
|
So systems will be in FLL then and the sims up North
|
Well now I'm confused.

Yep, systems in FLL, then up to MSP, I believe, for the sim.

The email I got says they are putting us up in the Fairmont on Griffin Rd., and we are to be at the training center by 8 a.m. Monday...so I am confused now too, unless they plan on sending out an update or change to that.

Sorry I meant to say the Fairfield not the Fairmont
