According to Ed they are currently "investigating if it would be cost efficient" to go away from outstation basing. He said that if it is they will do it, if not they won't.

Are most of your pilots commuting to work or Silver has managed to pick up pilots that already live in their out stations? (Aside from the FLL group...)

Man I missed a lot.
What's flying like? Do you still pull up to make the houses smaller?

Hi group,
I noticed Silver opened their application window up for pilots about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if interviews are actively taking place or if anyone has been given any class dates from this application period? I have a few questions. I notice on the job posting on the silver website it says Ft. Lauderdale. Does that mean they are looking to hire pilots in that domicile? I managed to read through about 50 pages of this thread, from what I can gather, back in November there were 18 saabs and they wanted to be down to 8 1900's by April. Any new Saabs on the property now? I wanted to know what was driving the hiring of pilots as it seems that from what I have read there are alot of pilots not flying alot right now. Also, does Silver have open arrangements for jumpseating with most carriers? Thanks |
They are not hiring into FLL right now. They are hiring for Billings, Montana and Dubois, Pensilvannia.
You would be going to the Beech 1900 at $19/hr. I do believe they are CASS, so yeah, you can jumpseat around... |

Thanks for your response. Any idea if they would look favorably or un-favorably on prior experience flying the Saab 340A or Captain time?
