I wish, bro. If I'd known the upgrade situation in advance, I'd have stayed on the 1900 and upgraded while transitioning, as others did.

I think most of the PFTs were already CAs when the DEC class came along. If they do another DEC class, what exactly is my recourse? Resign? Start over at another crappy regional at first year pay on reserve all over again? At least this place HAS to pay me as a CA if they hire more street CAs. I'd have a much better QOL making CA pay as a senior FO at Silver than any other option short of a major. And after a couple of years, I may not even need PIC time to get there. There isn't going to be much attrition at the very top of the list at 3M, since most of the top 50 or so are probably lifers. So, as a senior FO on CA pay, I can live in Florida and make more $$$
Don't fall for this trap ..... If you want to be a lifer your self sure stay as a FO and make captain pay. Won't get you hired somewhere else of your a 1900/ 340 guy with zero pic tho. Either get your time there or get out , I say this
Not to be rude but from someone who was in a similar situation.....
Either upgrade get some good PiC experience or go fly a jet and move
On .

During this testing you don't need to tear the seminole apart and put it back together. There is a difference between a type rating oral and checking and one just for an ATP. I agree with you guys that it sucks but is not something that is impossible.

I'll start hand flying without a FD more often to make sure I'll get through this if this will happen

So someone went around the union to "fix" this?

I saw one of the guys in the crew room in FLL for my open time trip, and he was upset that what happened was mentioned in an email as people will figure out who he is.

Any more ATL guys seeing their block times changed not to match the logbook? Ironically the company spoke of pilots stealing time, but now were getting jipped by the out stations, especially when you over block. I'm sure it's not only isolated to ATL stations.

I've seen the same thing in GNV.

So this exists...

Silver Airways Virtual - Home

Might just have to dust off the ole FSX ...No, or not.

Did you see the "qualifications" to join, and the rules of how to fly.... "GPS Direct". Wonder how they will do 441s?

About 80% of our trips has comm tickets and the rest are start in domicile but either way thank you for the ride wether its jumping or paying:):)

I have someone in my family that is in the same position (freight hauler), so whatever we can do to help out another commuter.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll see more DECs hired before they let us upgrade.

I hope this is not the case, as many of us are ready and waiting to upgrade

I've been doing some thinking, and I think I will do that. Hopefully if they run Saab upgrades I can jump over to that

Cry me a river! He deserves to outed! Went behind the back of the entire pilot group and attempted to stab us repeatedly in the back! He is NOT the victim in anyway shape or form! I say fire them for insubordination or w/e reason they can find, move us all up a couple numbers!

Definitely scab material, I think I know who it is, shady stuff. The Tom cooper days are gone, so should Mickey Mouse crap like that. Then again management shouldn't be cutting back door deals either behind the cba, not a good taste on a change of administration.

Does anyone think any of the DECs will be bumped out of their captain position when a new staffing bid comes out?!? Seniority is everything and I'm ok with that. Just need to know for planning purposes!!

Scab material? That word is being thrown around way to much these days.

Can't be bumped out of position with a staffing bid unless there is a reduction of positions ,,,, ie, if currently there are 125 captain positions and they want to close a base , say Billings , and need to reduce captain positions by 25 spots then yes a DEC can loose there spot . Which would suck for the obvious reasons but even more cause you have crap seniority as a DEC and could take a while for you to get a chance to re upgrade .... As the whole list has to refuse an upgrade before you would get it back .

But even with a staffing bid a DEC can't loose their spot unless a reduction or base closure occurs .
