Probably a long time from now.

Does silver hire direct entry captains with prior TPIC time? I thought I read about it in past pages but the career site only talks about FOs.

So silver pilot doesn't have a chance getting into major airlines? JW

With all the regional jet operators hiring, short upgrades, better travel benefits, and better tie in for interviews and flows, why would anybody choose to go to Silver? Serious question. Genuinely interested in why a pilot with 121 mins would bypass airlines with jet/fms experience, better travel benefits on global airlines, quick upgrades, decent pay with bonus checks too, and three have direct flow to a legacy, not the lowest LCC?
Is it a base close to home thing?

I know for me, I知 from SoFL, 5min away from FLL, so that痴 the only reason I知 even entertaining the idea. The LCCs seem the best end goal for decent pay and good QOL down here. So I know I知 starting to weigh the pros and cons of good QOL living at base on a turbo prop, or having the worst QOL at Envoy for DEC commuting reserve in LGA indefinitely.

Reserve and Basing

What is the latest on bases and reserve time out of training for Silver?

What bases are people getting out of training?

How much are they flying per month?

AvSec 09-16-2018 06:08 AM

Our bases are FLL, TPA, MCO. We are having a class every month. You will get whichever bade you want. Reserve will probably be two months. Plan on flying between 50-100 hrs/month.

We are hiring street captains.

Just out of curiosity what痴 the current estimate for the ATR starting service?

It is possible to get to a major straight from Silver. You will have to make yourself standout as a applicant. The majority of pilots from Silver end up going the LCC route or going over to an ACMI Carrier before heading to the majors.

So anyone currently at Silver or recently leave can shed some light on where pilots are going? Majors or LCC or regionals? I'd really appreciate it, trying to decide if Silver is a right fit, the base is 15 minutes from me so seriously considering.

Thanks
