Congratulations, all of those runways are 150' wide. That's not the point though. The risk isn't in the landing it's taxiing off the runway. Just look at the beewie taxiways off 33R/15L, they're narrow and have sharp turns with a pretty significant elevation change. I happily flew 402's and a BE9L's into that runway day and night, but when it comes to large, transport category aircraft it just isn't worth dropping a wheel off the taxiway for the two minutes it might save you in sequencing. I flew the Q for 9L and now I'm flying Dash's for C5 and I think it was just a matter of time before this happened.

Edit to add: since this thread has turned into a wiener measuring contest, how many times have you landed on 33R in BOS? You want fun, now that's a rush. Damn to relive my 9K days . . .
If you ever fly with the more senior captains, or get sim with BG or AT, they've got some good stories of the Beech days, including the circle to 33R in BOS. (I say that making the somewhat careless assumption you're new-ish around here =).

Yes, absolutely, we do work for you. But your righteous indignation is uncalled for. We are custodians of a system that you share with the rest of the flying public. If we ask you to do something quickly or use a different runway, it's usually to help you get on/off a little faster, or to keep other airplanes moving. Not to test your airmanship or entertain ourselves.

So I'm confused. Which is it? edit: Nevermind, I went back and re-read. Got it.

Regardless, I'm not sure which reason has merit. Seems to me an aviator should be able to cope with each, runway width be gosh-darned. Unfortunately it sounds like two guys had a bad day that no one wishes on anyone. (Now I'm knocking on wood) A strike can happen on any runway, no matter how wide or long it is.

Can someone at commutair send me your weight and balance procedures do you guys do the math by hand what does your weight and balance sheet look like?

I ask because we continue to have pilots get in trouble for making errors... With the ramp guys throwing on new bags and the gate agents rushing you all while you are doing the weight and balance it's hard not to mess up sometimes.

Thanks,

Our operation and forms likely differ from yours for various reasons. If you are interested in more information the best place to go is bombardier or your training department could contact other airlines for more info. Our forms are specific to our ops and I wouldn't feel comfortable giving out proprietary info like that without the proper permission.

I'd heard that. Is the limit supposedly 50,000 lbs.? I find no reference to it in the A/FD or any of our ATC documents.
