If all your worried about is getting PIC time then there are so many other options if you want to live in the lower 48. If you don't care about pay or quality of life then PenAir would love to have you.
Rumor is Grant has a few Penair pilot resumes right now. We just had a CA leave for medivac and it was a $20k pay raise.

I'm not management or recruiting, just a realist.

True, but if you want to get to The Show, 135 and/or SE turbine is about as useless as the runway behind you.

Unless you live in PenAir domicile in which they need pilots (i.e. NOT ANC). I blocked almost 90 hrs last month & credited 119, and was home 4 nights a week. So 119 x 30 = 3570 w/o the qtrly bonus which is another 750, so 4320 (52k/yr). Not quite up to the wholly owned's, but close.
And they may be old, but they are IMPECCABLY maintained. Maybe they could use some mx $ and up pilot pay?

Really? Where else could you upgrade in a year (or less) in a 121 ME Turbine? The Chief Pilot just put out a bid for upgrades and you need only 121 mins (i.e. ATP + 1000 121SIC, and I imagine, a rep for not being an idiot). "Captain Vacancy: 5 PDX, 6 DEN; SIC Vacancy: 7 DEN, 4 BOS." If have SAAB type, or boatloads of time in similar, street CA is not out of the question.

I am about ready to give up the left seat and go to Skywest just so I can have a life. I am getting so fed up for all the work I have to do for such crappy pay.

Ravn upgrade is 6+ and flying a caravan won't help moving up with thousands of retirements coming soon at the majors.
no no, the goal of a major is to get UPS and Fed Ex.

And the goal of UPS and Fed Ex is Boeing test pilot.

And the goal of Boeing test pilot is Astronaut.

And the goal of....

Very articulate, DP. Would you care to specifically address any point of my rebuttal?

There is truth to what has been said here; specifically, ANC guys are getting jobbed with forced TDY. But if one lives in/near a lower 48 domicile, how is flying lotsa hours for average industry pay necessarily a bad thing?

It's Deadpool, not DP. How many Captains have left PenAir in the last 6 months?
