I agree with that assessment. I think there may be some mentality progression as well with the nay sayers from last time. Rumor is there's a core group of names that might surprise you trying to get the ball rolling.

Many are still here, most are on the 2000. I still think a union is unlikely. I'd like to see a vote on one though.

The Union threat was valid 10 years ago. Back then there was no shortage of pilots that were willing to sleep in the back of their cars outside the training center while going through groundschool in order to secure a job that required being responsible for more lives than fit on a school bus but be paid less than a school bus driver.
Times are different now, the Union Threat is novel and I know for a fact that meetings have been held, but things have shifted more in our favor. We don't even need to threaten organization anymore because we can all get jobs that will have us at home more nights per month and netting more income in less than 1 year tomorrow. A Grant pilot flying an Airvan in Bristol Bay and commuting from Anchorage makes more than we do and is home more nights than we are unless you are in the left seat and have been there for more than 5 years. And that's if you insist on living in AK. If you're willing to live in America why in the **%# wide world of sports would you put up with PenAir? Go fly a jet and get the same pay and the career progression. These concepts need to be published on an open forum without fear of management retribution.

Hate to say it but i do not see that happening. Management is a pilot hating group. Every 2 weeks they send out our paychecks and just hate the fact that we are the highest employees/expenses on their list. Also how do you think they will give say just the captains a pay raise when they can even pay out a quarterly bonus to the fo's? Supposedly something happened with the paperwork and not getting it in on time. I highly doubt that! Why do you think scotty B is now a part owner? Hmmm lets think for a second, penair not paying bills, penair not paying people, penair bad credit... he is a short term resolution to their money/credit problem. It's not good

Close the doors. This has always instilled fear amongst the pilots. Since Oren supposedly said it. Man up and unionize! If they shut the doors, then fine! You are then free to get another job and eventually you'll be better off.
