OK, thanks for the info. I thought it may be the case with N registered aircraft but thought there might be an allowance when operating in the Caribbean if you had the correct (not US) work visa.

Cheers

Nothing to do with the registration of the aircraft, but where we are based. We are (mostly) based in SJU, and to be based there, you need a work visa for the US. We have a few pilots based in St Barth, but they are exceptions and I'm not sure if we're looking to add pilots there.

OK thanks, didn’t realise SJU was the primary domicile - makes sense now.

Thanks for the info.

Second .. Tradewind is desperate for pilots ???? Need pilots but will not upgrade just any pilot . Even if you are PIC on the east coast ( new) still need to pass SBH or Caribbean training.
Do you know if there is validity in this? It looks too good to be true?

Why does it look too good to be true? Paid training for a 4 year commitment.
Tradewind is a great company to work for.

Because there is no information about it. Tradewind does not appear to have any information on their website. There is no articles or postings regarding this news. Not to mention EPIC admissions recruiter had no idea about their own posting. Do you have links to other articles regarding this?

I work at epic and never even heard about this pathway program. Trying to get in with TW but it appears they are not hiring SIC's at the moment. After some investigating, there is no program through Epic. Admissions put it up before it materialized and they need to take it down off the website. Got my hopes up for a second...

Classes are full for the rest of the winter, keep trying though. We’ll definitely need SICs up north as summer Shuttle season rears its head. There’s a hiring push from March-June ish

I have really been looking at Tradewind lately, it looks like an amazing company to fly for. At the end of my current contract (oct this year) I think Tradewind will be at the top of the list. Just curious what the chances of being based in Puerto Rico full time are like.
