Question regarding uniforms on the Inc. side. If I remember correctly a while back in the thread it was mentioned that a polo shirt is the standard uniform. Are there any exceptions to the polo shirt, like a long sleeve? For context say one had a tattoo that needed to be covered.

Perfect. Thanks. I’m putting this up there in the perks category.

Well,

I am making progress.
I just received an invite to the October 22 open house in Burbank!

Excellent!

The uniform is the same on both sides, the only difference is one says "JetSuite" while the other says "JSX". They are all short sleeves. I can't speak to the Inc side but at X we have a couple of guys that wear those black Under Armor sleeves to cover their tattoos and it's fine.

Would it be awkward or poor form to attend when I am not one of those things? Or would it be a sign of a "go getter" etc..

I am a CFI at 900 TT.
You have to get an invite in order to attend. You get an invite by RSVP’ing first. I can’t tell you to not show up but just remind you that the event is for potential quick upgrade Captains only. (Regional pilots, LCC’s etc..)

Right now my understanding is that the FOs they are hiring don’t need to be ATPs (company pays for your ATP-CTP once you upgrade) but they do have to have 1500+ hours. Their mins are 1000 but I haven’t heard of anyone getting hired with those hours for a while but that may change next year when they up the classes to 16 a month (it’s been 4-8 a month in 2019).

Keep building your hours, there will def be a spot for you at some point!

If your hire date is say Jan 20th, your health insurance benefits kick in March 1st.

I hear upgrades are quick for those who qualify. I'm currently a regional FO looking to make the switch to JSX. Is it reasonable to upgrade within a year? Have about 2000TT

May very well get hired as a PIC/SIC. Spend a few weeks/months in the right seat building experience on this side and move on over.
I’ve trained many of the JSX’ers who were hired as a with lower time. We issue their type and ATP if needed.
I love doing those check rides, giving the first type and/or ATP.
