A new hire 99 in PHX, sure its possible. Heck, they new hired people there more than they upgraded there in the last 6 months. But yes, Ameriflight is very very fluid right now

Seems it is always that way. In the early 90's it took years to get in the metro- I got into it in '95 after one year. It was a great program.
Amflight is definitely a good place to start.
Good luck to all.

AMF

Well I just finished filling out the AMF application. I've been told by quite a few other AMF'ers to apply even though I only have 1130tt.

So I did. Hopefully I get a call but i have a feeling that I won't until I keep updating my application to where i'm closer to 1200. But seems like AMF is in need of pilots because they're now offering sign-on bonuses.

Could I be wrong on getting the call with my current time???

Are they seriously offering a sign on bonus? How much is it?

Looks like it depends on what you're flying, but $1000 or $1500...

My burning question is the gem found at the bottom of that page: The PA31 Upgrade Program. 900 hours? Paid to build time? Job once you get the minimums? Sounds like a slam dunk! Too good to be true...anybody have knowledge of the program? What's the pay like? Is it everything they say it is?

From what I have heard it's minimum wage based on block time. So it's not much. But at least your not paying for it. And unless you screw up you're locked for a captain spot once you hit 1200.

It's a pretty new program and from what I was told they are only taking 6 or 8 at a time and then filling the slots again when guys move on. I'm also pretty sure it will require some kind of commitment AFTER you get to the 1200.

I've also heard they're offering the annual retention bonus at the year mark (7% for the 99, 10% if you're typed). It previously didn't kick in until 2 years.

AirNet used to do a similar program. Years ago, I talked to a previous Chief Pilot who was considering this, looks like they're finally implementing it.

Not for the 99 (unless something has changed in the past couple weeks.) And for typed it is only if you are hired directly into the typed plane. Plus you have to commit to the second year to get it.

It's been that way since the last pay revision about 7 years ago.
